It was a familiar place with unfamiliar faces. Things had changed over the years, but the station still kept the same charm Aella remembered. Of course the first thing she did was head over to her familiar ground, the place she had always gone to when she wanted to people watch and play games. When Aella first came to the station years ago, she struggled with Federation technology. Now after serving alongside fellow Alliance members, she was accustomed to the variety of different foods. Of course at Iota she ordered her favourite earth dish; Bakkwa. Just stacks of bakkwa. @Lieutenant Ughaz’udan

"Some things don't ever change, do they? You're still eating that illogically sweet jerky even after all this time." This was followed by a bark of laughter - a very familiar bark of laughter. She would've recognized it anywhere. Ughaz'udan joined her very shortly after having seen her from the entrance while passing by. "I trust the Founders have treated you well."

Aella heard a familiar voice behind her and turned her head. Of all people she didn't imagine running into him here. A waterfall of emotions came rushing over her as soon as their eyes met. He was the man she loved to hate. They used to argue for hours, she remembered feeling like she was walking through a minefield every time they spoke.** *And that's what she loved the most. "It's still very good after all these years. You should really try some,"Aella offered a piece to him. "Yes, they have. I got promoted, Suba'toran,"She said proudly with a big grin on her face. "And what about you? The Founders seem to have blessed you too."

"I command the Dukan'rex - though not by the Founders' hand. Alliance Command feels that I am worthy and so I accept the responsibility given to me." He motioned out the window, at the silver and yellow vessel docked just a little ways out. A ferocious-looking blend of Federation and Dominion technology it was, the first of its kind - others would surely soon follow. He stuffed the sweet meat jerky in his mouth and raised an eyebrow at the taste. "Not bad. I wonder why it took me fifteen years to appreciate this."

"The Dukan'rex, sounds impressive. Alliance Command continues to surprise me,"Aella looked out the window to see a just a blur and nodded pretending to be impressed. If it was Ughaz'udan's ship it was definitely impressive, even if she couldn't see a thing. "How does it taste? Describe it for me,"Aella leaned closer to Ughaz'udan, giving him a flirty smile. As always, Aella would never stop her advances no matter how many years have passed.

She knew that he was married and with a daughter and she was still trying, hm? Classic Aella. Yes, some things never changed and this was one of them, he thought to himself with amusement. "Sweet." He shrugged. "And oddly tough. I will always find the contrast a bit jarring."
Avatar
Aella 5 | CIV BOT 20-Feb-22 03:15 AM
"Is it really?"Aella took another bite of Bakkwa and nodded as if she knew what sweet was. "I will take your word for it,"At this point Aella had already finished all of the Bakkwa. She ate a lot for someone who didn't have a taste for anything aside from kava nuts and assorted berries. "How is your life in command? You're still married, right? What a pity,"Aella turned her head and sighed, pretending to be distraught at the idea. She knew that he knew that her tricks were old, but she was a Vorta to the bitter end. "Do you think this is truly what the Founders envisioned for you?"
Avatar
Captain Ughaz'udan | CMD BOT 20-Feb-22 03:19 AM
"I think the Founders envisioned that I was to learn from my experiences here in the Federation." He responded. "And they envisioned that I would grow from it, for better or for worse. Since they have so far raised no opposition to my chosen station in life I care little for what they may actually think." Despite what he may have said about the oddly illogical meat jerky that she liked he promptly stuffed another piece in his mouth. Contradictory much? Meh, maybe. He likely didn't care.

Aella watched him intently, observing his every move as she always did. "Perhaps that is true, but I think you have been spending too much time with these..."Aella paused before she said anything too rude onboard an alliance run Starbase. * "What I mean is you're forgetting where you came from,"Aella frowned and put her hand on Ughaz'udan's shoulder. It was true she also had been serving alongside the other Alliance races but what made her different is she still commended a Jem'hadar crew.*

"You have. You've grown soft. Oh how the mighty have fallen, Jem'hadar with freedom was truly a mistake,"Aella may have learned how to play nicely with her fellow Alliance colleagues, but now that she was back with her Dominion best friend (as close to friends as a vorta and Jem'hadar could be), there was nothing stopping her."Why don't we take a walk together?"

Slowly making her way into the club, she glanced around at the surroundings, it had indeed been set up for the 'reunion' that was supposed to be happening. Glancing around the room she did spot a few familiar faces, as she made her way across towards the others.

The Trill had been here for a while, having plucked up the courage to attend when it was somewhat quieter. It was in typical fashion that she hadn't actually spoken to anyone, though -- well, not anyone from way back when. Instead she had found her way to the bar and had ended up chatting with a young Bolian instead, the woman not exactly supposed to be here considering she wasn't part of the reunion, but having showed up for the good drinks. The two of them were idly chatting with their backs to the bar, cocktail in hand... And it was sat there watching the others in the bar that she ended up catching sight of the person who just walked in. Immediately she froze, shoulders tense and eyes wide, and all but accidentally slapped the Bolian in the leg as she tried to suddenly get her attention. "Oh, no. Oh, noooo," she spoke, lowering her voice to a hushed whisper despite them being well across the club from one another. "I thought she would have left by now..."
Avatar
Vialara Treville | CIV BOT 25-Feb-22 07:18 PM
Having moved through the small crowd that had gathered, the woman had grabbed herself a drink, and made her way over towards the seating area. Occasionally stopping to speak with a few of the other members of the club, still blissfully unaware of any new hosts of her recently deceased wife that could be sitting across the club from her. Eventually she had made her way back to where many others were sitting, and was now glancing around the tables looking for an empty seat.

The Bolian that she had been speaking to looked totally perplexed in regards to Leora's sudden panic. Trying to be as discreet as possible she pointed out the Betazoid across the way, although 0% context was given to why she didn't want some seemingly miscellaneous person to be here. She tried to keep track of where exactly Vialara was looking - it seemed like she was trying to find a place to go... And oh, god, most of the tables were occupied but the bar wasn't. Swiftly Leora spun her bar stool around so she was now facing the bar, very much hoping that if the Betazoid did head over then she at least wouldn't pay her much heed.

Vialara Treville | CIV BOT 25-Feb-22 07:51 PM
"Gosh.. you'd think they'd put out more tables than this if they were planning on having an event here." The woman muttered to herself as she struggled to find a suitable seating place. Eventually, she gave up her search through the tables and headed back towards the bar, remembering that she had noticed a few empty spaces she might be able to squeeze herself into between groups. Making her way up behind Leora, she gently tapped the woman on the shoulder. "Excuse me, I hate to be a pest but there's not many seats around here, could I squeeze in next to you?" She said, with a kind gentle smile on her face.

Leora Ville | CIV BOT 25-Feb-22 08:07 PM
Somehow she had just known that this was going to happen. Something had just told her that the woman was approaching, and lo and behold, a moment later there was a tap on her shoulder. She couldn't help but jump a little and glanced around to look at the woman perhaps a little too fast, resisting the urge to grimace at the way she had accidentally twisted her neck. "Oh, uhm, of course! Go ahead miss, uh ma'am, uh - feel free to sit here!" The blue lighting of the club might have concealed the embarrassed blush upon her face, but there was no hiding her completely messing up her words. What an amazing start.
Avatar
Vialara Treville | CIV BOT 25-Feb-22 11:00 PM
"Thank you, my dear." She said with a smile, sliding in beside her and sitting her drink down on the bar. "There sure is a lot of folk turning up for this whole reunion thing, isn't there? Never seen so many old faces in one place before. It's good to see them all so accomplished. Makes me proud."
Avatar
Leora Ville | CIV BOT 25-Feb-22 11:51 PM
As the Betazoid took her seat Leora shot a rather terrified glance towards the Bolian beside her before (reluctantly) turning back to face the Betazoid. ...Well, she didn't turn fully, it was more of a turn back to face the bar and glance sideways just ever so slightly sort of thing. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, the nervousness of having to speak to her again - or for the first time? - was unbearable... But then so was the horrid ache that arose at the words 'my dear' spoken in that friendly tone, words that she had heard so many times before in another life. "It, uhm... It is nice to see that a lot of people made it. It seems as though they're all doing well - that time has been good to them." It was strange how with the more she spoke the more she sounded like someone else -- not using her vocabulary, not using her emotion. Sometimes it felt like someone else entirely and at other times it felt like this was just... Part of her. She was still getting used to it -- but slowly, it was becoming more natural. There was a brief pause while she considered her next words - her anxiety said no, but a strange sense of compassionate concern which had arisen spoke otherwise. "I know the years were kind to you, too... But I hope that the past six months haven't tarnished that at all... Commander Dreaxa."

@Lt. Cdr. Oskar Weber | SEC (@Ensign Oskar Weber) - jump [D] It was at this point that she wandered in, having heard of a cocktail party being held there; she had been looking around the station beforehand, this being her first time back since her transfer to the Polaris 4 years ago. At 37, she looked..... largely the same, the only notable difference being that she styled her hair differently now; she was wearing a simple yellow dress. After entering she just wandered about, seeing that the club was full; 'where am I gonna sit?' she thought to herself. After a moment however she noticed an open seat at a table - and sitting there was Oskar Weber, a man she had met years ago on this exact starbase once. Very confusing, and difficult to get used to, but at least being here and talking to people I - we? - used to know... It makes things a little clearer. I've been trying to understand it all by myself - not much input from the Symbiosis Commission, no zhian'tara... But I'm going to try my best, you know? And I feel like being here has helped."

"Well I'm glad of that. You seemed very nervous when I came over here. I hope that wasn't anything significant as was more of a general worry than anything." She said with a smile. "There's a lot of people here who knew Aleto well, perhaps just speaking with the others will help ease the transition between old host and new. I know the previous one is typically the one with the strongest memories... or well, something like that."

His wife spoke up again "Oh, how many do you have?" She asked with a smile and kind tone
@Lt. Cdr. Oskar Weber | SEC (@Ensign Oskar Weber) - jump "Just two," she replied with a smile, "their names are Gray and Taylor."

Stepping in she looked around at all the others and waited for Sam. The sudden loudness and block of people made her uncomfortable and she let Sam lead.

@Vialara Treville | CIV (@Lt. Cdr. "I feel like everything was very jumbled before and I was struggling to make out which memories belonged to who, to remember things properly and understand it all... But just being here and speaking to people has made that better. I'm thankful for it... And for speaking to you, even though I know it must be... Really, really weird."

"Honestly... Not as weird as you'd think. Aleto and I have talked a great deal about her past lives and her experiences with being joined. I know exactly what you're going through, and it's alright to be confused and worried about it, especially if you haven't had anyone there to help you through it, or explain things to you."

@Lieutenant Ota McLellan | ENG (@Ensign Virol Ota) - jump Both Oskar and Amanda smiled "We have two as well, we left them on the Saratoga with a friend so we could have a week together." Oskar explained with a small nod

@Lt. Cdr. Oskar Weber | SEC (@Ensign Oskar Weber) - jump She smiled at that. "I was hopin' for somethin' like that with myself and Jack; he's the chief helmsman so uh.... we don't really spend much time together, or with the kids, since we're literally a ship apart most of the day," she said. "Now that we're here, we can spend as much time as we want together, as a family."

"Understandable, Amanda is with the kids most of the time, I have night shift so the kids are asleep," He said with a nod "They're just... a handful sometimes."

"Tell me about it," she replied with a light chuckle. "Even at 12 and 10, they're a handful for me too sometimes, especially the older one, Gray."

"Yeah, Kristopher is seven and Catherine is 5, both of them love getting into trouble." He said with an agreeing nod, only to be playfully popped on the shoulder by Amanda "Says, you." She started "You see them for ten minutes before they go to sleep..."

@Lt. Cdr. Oskar Weber | SEC (@Ensign Oskar Weber) - jump Smiling as they spoke to each other, she then looked around for a bit and, ultimately, decided to walk around the club for a bit. "I'll leave you two alone now, gonna walk around for a little..." she said to them, with a smile, as she moved to get up.

She got up, gave each of them a smile and a wave, and then went off to see around the club and enjoy the cocktail party; in the meantime, she was thinking and planning out how she was going to spend time on 777 with Jack, Gray, and Taylor.

After a hour or so, the two had very quickly gotten on well together. The trill very quickly falling back to her old memories and rekindling her forgotten freindship with the former CMO. The woman had managed to get some closure on the death of her partner, and Leora had gotten some much needed assistance in dealing with the past memories of her recently deceased former host.

It was as the chronometer showed it was just past midnight that the CMO finally showed up as he said he would. Dagis, being as eagle-eyed as ever noticed him enter almost immediately, gesturing for the bartender to finally pour the sangria she had put on hold for him. With a smile, she took the drink over to the man as he walked into the club, holding it out for him to take when she finally got to him. Despite him being late, the Ferengi didn’t mind at all, and the two headed over to the bar to chat about all sorts of stuff. Naturally, of course, Dagis didn’t hold back on light-heartedly mocking how late he was to the party.
