Setting
The year is 2412 and three factions are set to attend a peace summit; the first of its kind for many people. The factions all have their own desires and motivations for attending the summit, and it is likely that not every member there truly wants peace. The Starbase 777 of the Mirror Universe is set to host these three factions in diplomatic talks that could change the future of the Mirror Universe - or it could result in them staying the same, depending on the actions of the attendees and if they decide to stick to their old, brutish ways.
The Terran Empire
The Terran Empire is the ruling state in the Mirror Universe, known for using force instead of diplomacy and operating under a military dictatorship which is ruled by their Emperor. The Terrans - their term for Humans - are nationalistic and xenophobic, having decided that they are the ideal species. Officers in Imperial Starfleet kill one another in order to progress in the ranks and secure higher positions for themselves - but taking that position then means they are at risk of the same fate. The traditional Terran Empire fell under the weight of proposed reforms plus opposition from the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance and the Terran resistance. Numerous Terrans and Vulcans were taken as slaves. By 2409, however, a Second Terran Empire had been formed to take its territory back and also begin hostile incursions into the prime universe in order to obtain supplies to aid in their goal of reclaiming what they had lost. Resources have continued to be the main point of their downfall, and the prospect of securing more assets - or eliminating a multitude of the competition in one go - is the only reason that they have agreed to attend the peace conference on Starbase 777. The main species that hold high-ranking positions within the Terran Empire and Imperial Starfleet are the Terrnas themselves. Other species who have been conquered by them and may show up within their ranks include the Andorians, Betazoids, Cardassians, Denobulans, Orions, Tellarites, Vulcans, Bajorans, Kelpiens, and Klingons. The ISS Eventide has been put forward by the Emperor to represent the Empire at the Peace Summit. Any Terran Empire officer who is attending will be a crewmember from this ship.

The Galactic Commonwealth
The Galactic Commonwealth is a faction which arose from the earlier Terran Rebellion/Terran Resistance Forces which were formed in the 2370s. The faction mainly comprised of Terrans and the species they had previously conquered, now having to rise up against the KCA who had overthrown them in turn. They are the second-largest faction in the Mirror Universe, having formed alliances and reclaimed a lot of space that was previously owned by the Terran Empire. While initially they used the same brutal approach as the other factions, their ideals began to turn to diplomacy and peace in 2378, influenced by the Prime Universe’s UFP and previous attempted reform in the Terran Empire. One of their most notable victories was managing to encompass more than two-dozen planets in a twenty light-year span from Sol. Slavery has been outlawed, all species are equals, and the focus is on peace and forming alliances. The Galactic Commonwealth are the ones who have called for the peace summit on Starbase 777, hoping that they can share their ideals and convince the other factions to lay down their arms and set a new precedent for the Mirror Universe. The Galactic Commonwealth comprises a number of species. This includes Terrans, Bajorans, Vulcans, Tellarites, Andorians, and others who may have been - or had family who were - part of the Terran Resistance or former slaves of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. They may be newer members who have turned away from the Terran Empire’s ideals. Klingons, Cardassians, and Bajorans may have joined their ranks after turning away from the KCA. Romulans can also notably be found within their ranks, having formed an alliance with them early in the Commonwealth’s establishment. Starbase 777 is the seat of the Peace Summit - a station that represents change, having swapped hands from the Terran Empire to the KCA to the Commonwealth over the years. Any Galactic Commonwealth officer who is attending will be a crewmember from this station.

The Klingon-Cardassian Alliance
The Alliance is the third largest faction in the Mirror Universe, although they are hardly as powerful as they once were. They were formed in response to the Terran Empire’s conquest of large portions of the Mirror Alpha and Beta Quadrants, formed of a historic union between two former enemies. They share the same brutal tactics as the Terran Empire, and their faction is ruled by a Regent. By the mid-2300s the Alliance had conquered the Terran Empire and came to control a large area of the Alpha Quadrant. By 2409, however, the Alliance had been conquered by the newly reformed Terran Empire; and on the other side, a number of their people opted to ally with the Galactic Commonwealth instead. Surviving forces were forced to focus on avoiding being detected by Imperial Starfleet and instead of working to re-claim their lost ground, having to work to establish new colonies outside of Terran-controlled space. The main issue they have encountered is that avoiding the Terran Empire is not easy, considering how they actively go out of their way to hunt down those who oppose them. With a multitude of their people being taken as slaves they are low on manpower and have few resources. They have accepted the invitation to the peace conference in the hopes of securing more ground for them to settle colonies on, and hopefully, some form of treaty allowing them to settle outside of Terran space without interference. The main species that are high-ranking in the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance are the Klingons, Cardassians, and Bajorans. Some of the Terran Empire species can also be found in their ranks, mostly from when they were subject species from when the Alliance had conquered them. The KCS Losgek - an old Galor class that has survived numerous conflicts - has been selected by the Regent to represent the Klingon Cardassian Alliance at the Peace Summit. Any KCA officer who will be attending will be a crewmember from this ship.
