Star Trek: Starbase 777

The group was tucked away high on the hill, either astride or beside horses as they waited. The distant roll of wheels against the track could be heard, but there was no train in sight for now.

Suddenly finding herself somewhere completely different, Suun froze, eyes darting this way and that as she tried to make sense of everything. Holodecks were never her strong suit. “Is everyone alright?”

Sykes was fully prepared to hold up her PADD to take a bullet for her, and so, she slowly lowered her faux clipboard with wires dangling out the back to find herself seated on horseback. She paused. “Oh, SUNOVA-”

"HA! PSYCH BAS..." *She yelled out as she was about to do something unwise, that is before she looked around, and everything changed. *"tards.... we're not in the train anymore, it seems. I'm all good."

“Hey! What the heck!” Maggie said as she appeared near the horses. “Ughhh, I’m going to blame this on Maya until proven otherwise.”

Eiheu looked around quickly as she suddenly appeared in this new environment. "What the-? Hey-! The holodeck is all weird-! I knew it, I knew there was something wrong! Stupid Federation technology..." Eiheu kicked the sand around her in frustration... As if Klingon holodecks were supposed to be any better. They were not.

It was an abrupt transition, as in a dream, where he couldn't identify the exact moment he'd switched scenes; he only knew that before he, was there, and after, he was here. "I'm fine. Seems we've been moved... Though I'm not sure this was intentional on the holodeck's part."

"WHAT are you all shouting about?" T'leka snapped, head swiveling to face the rest of the group. She was seated atop a spotted horse, expression tight. "You trying to let them hear us through the windows?"

Sykes slung her leg over the side of the horse as she dismounted, hopping down and tapping at her PADD, “Goddamn error reset fuckin’- I need you to STOP KICKIN’ SAND, I cannot THINK!” She spat with a thick drawl at Eiheu, before going back to her PADD, “I had it, I was plugged in! Where is this override!!”

She stilled at the sight of the other, lips curling into a thin frown. “…we’re the bandits.”

"I'm literally right here, Maggie." Maya said as she stood right next to her. Then when the lead bandit spoke, a bit began to make slightly more sense. *"Sorry man. Just the nerves. Mind reminding me what our plan was again?" *She asked T'leka as she stepped up to one of the horses. Cute, majestic creatures nonetheless. (edited)

He chuckled nervously, realizing he was sat upon this large, brown beast on the saddle. His ears press against his head, confused. "S-surely, we won't need to kill?"

Vovvi cursed as she tumbled, catching herself rather abruptly against the saddle she was seated on. She was there— she was there, and they were, too, and Veldan— her head swiveled instinctively to find him, search for him, and he was there. She out a breath of relief, head dropping into her hands.

Ngozi blinked for a few seconds as she took in her new surroundings. She was next to a horse, that was surprising. She looked around, took in her new surroundings and the empathetic signatures of the people around her.

The moment that Eiheu was told to stop kicking sand was the one moment when she wanted to kick sand more than she ever did in her life... She stood still for a moment, then when she thought Carissa wasn't looking, gave the sand one last, very small and quiet kick. (edited)

Blink, and suddenly there is sand - sprawling outwards into infinity, interrupted only by the jagged, massive rock formations all around them. Saren shuddered, the alien sensation rolling off of him like cold water. "Wha..." he breathed out, looking around with wonder. Was he... also on a horse?

Suddenly going from having a gun pressed to your head to being on horseback was certainly not how Veldan expected to spend his day, nor did he expect to be raiding the very train he was just on. Spotting Vovvi, he (very ungracefully) dismounted and went over. “You okay??”

He was staying on the horse. It was fun, being this tall. "Ain't never been on a horse before. Not sure I know how to drive this thing..." He cleared his throat and spoke loudly, addressing everyone. "Looks like we're the bandits, but that's just fine. Our aim should be to get back on that train anyway."

"We plan to just play along to do the plan, as we planned it. That sounds like a plan." Maya casually said, with some emphasis to the first bit as she looked back to the others (edited)

"Wow, we're bandits now?! This is awesome!!" Eiheu cheered up immediately. "Wait, that means I have a gun, right-? I can shoot a gun!" She immediately started to look for any signs of a weapon on her person, starting with the pockets of the long coat she had on.

Sak looked utterly confused at the surroundings and looked around at the others. "When did we become bandits? We were just in the train?" (edited)

Sykes started making a very huffy circle as she paced around the horse she was once riding, frantically scrolling through the code in her PADD, “Yeah, yeah…” She muttered toward Maya, waving her hand dismissively, “I need to get in the engine, for uh…” She paused in her pacing, “…cuz, I’m gonna make sure the train stays on the tracks, boss,” She said to T’leka with a little nod, before returning to her pacing. Maybe there’s another panel hidden within a damned cactus or something.

"We may not shoot any guns," he said, voice still raised, "Remember - the safeties may be off." (edited)

"Can I shoot at a cactus?" Eiheu piped up quickly.

Sak looked at Mephistopheles. "I heard that holodecks had safety precautions, so even if we shoot someone; they can't get hurt, right?"

"Unless you're trained specifically in the use of an ancient gun, no, you may not." It might go through the cactus and hit someone else.

This was an unexpected turn of events, but everyone was acting really weird now. She looked to the Captain for guidance. “Is this a “we have to complete the simulation to escape” situation?” Ngozi asked nobody in particular. (edited)

"Don't waste the ammo, girl." Maya said to Eiheu "Best save it for later." wink wink

"Can I... Chuck a gun at a cactus...?" Eiheu resuggested, upon being told not to shoot by two different people.

Definitely not minutely excited by the fact that he was suddenly horseback, Saren urged his new four-legged friend to come closer to the two Rei'naks: "Are both of you okay?"

”Oh. My. God. I didn’t even know this was an option!” She had known about the more action driven setting, with bandits and heists, but she didn’t know they could play bandits! “Okay where is my revolver?! And uhm… yeah riding a horse will be hard like this.” She went to hold her skirt with both hands while trying to keep her balance and noticed the program had completely changed her clothes! She looked like a proper functional bandit. “OH HELL YEAH! This is much better. Good horsy…” Little pats on the beast’s neck. How cute! “I’mma call you Panqueca.”

She reached out, squeezing Veldan's hand and offering him a boost up onto the saddle with her. "Fine," she answered both him and Saren, gaze drifting to the horizon. "I can hear the train, but.." Ah. There it was in the distance.

The more they spoke of holodecks and escaping and everything under the sun, the more the bandit distorted— she clipped awkwardly through her horse, hovering in midair, before it reappeared. "What?" she angled her head towards Sykes; stabilized, then dismissed her with a wave of the hand. "That's fine. That's fine. All that matters — matters, is—" "The loot. I don't care who we take out to get there. Got it?"

"Lest you wanna a misfire, shoot a horse, and give our position away.... no" Maya answered Eiheu before she turned to Garcia and waved "Program got buggy and reset. Safeties may be off."

She hummed, listening to the others and picking up the revolver at her side, turning it over in her hands. She didn’t remember getting it, but it was what it was. “Good call.” She replied, putting it back in its holster.

Score! She quickly shuffled over to Vovvi and gestured for her to lean down, lowering her voice to make sure the program stayed stable, “Panel’s behind the furnace door in the engine. I was plugged in before the reset, so it’s probably still open and has loose circuits.”

Eiheu finally found an ancient revolver inside one of her very many coat pockets. "Yooooo! Look what I found!" Eiheu called out to everyone else, waving the revolver around. "I promise I won't throw it-! Or shoot it or anything-! Wait, does this thing even have bullets-" Eiheu rotated the gun in her hand to check. (edited)

Cocks shotgun. It may be dangerous since they were the bad guys now, but it still felt cool "Got it, Boss." Maya answered to T'Leka. Other question, how many of them are here compared to other fellow Bandit NPCs?

"Certainly an idea- Don't stare down the barrel of any firearm, phaser or not. Horrible idea." He sighed, making sure the shawl still covered the holster that was originally his Type-2 Phaser. He anxiously rolls his shoulders.

Not bullets.. pellets. In a color of the player's choosing. Exactly six, though for whatever reason, Eiheu had an extra one. Huh. Wonder if she should shoot it at the ground and see what happens. Wink wink nudge nudge. Not a bandit NPC in sight besides the leader.

Spirits almighty. Supressing a facepalm, Saren instead took a quick look at the horses present - were they the same ones who were in the pursuit of the train, not too long ago? He didn't see details, but coat colors...

Why yes! Isn't that funny?

...Pellet guns? Hm... She held that thought as she led her horse over to the captain. She chose hers to be bright purple for reasons. "Captain... we're armed and out number the bandit leader... do you think we should... you know" Maya suggested with a slight raise of her weapon to give a hint. "also either the safety being on or off was a gamble as well like us being here, or they were always going to be pellet bbs."

Stop breaking the holodeck fourth wall, you're making your leader glitch out :(.

Eiheu opened the revolver and found six strange green pellets in there... And a seventh pellet in one of her inside pockets. Although having more ammo is always good, Eiheu figured that having that extra one just lying around would probably be more of a hassle than it's worth. It'd probably get lost anyway, if she doesn't use it soon... But if she does use it... She wondered what those pellets even do, anyway. Surely they can't really hurt a person? They're not even real bullets! Eiheu walked a few meters away from the rest of the team, and when she thought nobody was looking, she loaded the pellets back into the gun, and shot at the ground. Surely the ground can take a hit, right-?

Green paint splattered harmlessly into the dust and sand. Huh.

”Oh shoot! Yeah, we better worry about the safety… and not just the guns, chasing after a train on horseback is dangerous enough in itself.” At least her gun seemed… pretty friendly when it came to the ammunition? She took Panqueca’s reins in one hand to make sure she had a bit of control. “Wait.” She looked over at Maya. “Maybe safety is glitching too! We can’t be sure the ammo will stay as pellets forever…”

“For now, does the leader have the same pellets, though?” She questioned, “Because these are just our guns. Maybe the holodeck NPCs have different ones.”

Thank god for Maya. If he had to remind people one more time that the safeties might be off, he might go loco. Speak of the devil, here she is. "Hmmm... I don't know. From what I've just observed, she may be the only one with a real weapon. We'll need to check if she has pellets, first."

Eiheu squatted down next to the freshly-formed puddle of green paint, and dipped her fingers in to investigate. It felt like paint. It smelled like paint. Eiheu licked it. Ew, it even tasted like paint! "Yo, these bullets aren't even real! It's just paint!" She reported her finding to everyone else.

"Say guys, maybe we should tone down the gun talk, in case anyone hears." She whispered yelled to the rest of the group, gesturing to the bandit leader.

Oh, the bandit was-- hm. Saren rode up to them, then: "People are asking if we should we be targeting the caboose? The balcony is rather small."

"Maybe we should target the conductor car instead and work our way from there." *Maya suggested with a shrug. *"Keep a couple of us to hold that fort down that way no one gets any funny ideas about retaking the train while we're there."

"Hm?" T'leka raised her head from where she'd been watching the train in the distance. "We need to get the key from the conductor so we can get to everything in the freight car. But 's locked, and any other approach besides from the back risks detection." She tugged her hat firmly down over her head, contemplating.

What if… what happened, happens again? Would they just be put back on the train, or in the canyon? “We could attack from both sides. Split up and go from the caboose and the front and work our way to the middle.”

"That way we outflank any good looking marshal-folks from either end and stop them from havin any aye-dee-ers." Maya added on to what Suun had suggested. "I still think it's a good idea to keep a couple of people in the conductor car though just in case. I volunteer for that."

Well.. this was weird. Sidak doubted he would step one foot in any holodecks at all after this. He had a pellet gun too, the pellets were orange.. but he’d never even fired one before. He didn’t think he’d have very good aim.. but well, he’d have to try. Maybe it would end up being fun after all? He looked over at the strange creature he was next to, a big brown and white paint horse. Well.. he’d never get to ride one of these anywhere else, so he might as well take this chance. Somehow, by the grace of the universe, he managed to get into the saddle without making a fool of himself, and even if he shot absolutely nothing at all today, that was a win in and of itself.

"The conductor car is locked," T'leka echoed, raising her voice. "How do you expect to get in there?"

“We could try to get into one of the windows, or sneak into the gap between the cars.” She suggested.

"My bad, thought you were referrin to the freight car... I dunno break the roof or a window. Shoot the door down?" Maya resuggested

Sak responded. "Yeah, breaking the windows sounds plausible enough. We can try that."

Eiheu walked back to everyone else, and listened in to their conversations. Her hand was still covered with green paint, which she tried to wipre off on her dress. It didn't help get her hands any cleaner, and just painted the side of her dress green instead. Hopefully no one would mistake the green paint for Romulan blood...

“I volunteer myself for that side, if no one’s opposed.” She figured it could be fun to try and get through a window, at least.

She gave a sharp bark of a laugh. "I'd like to see you try to squeeze through one of those windows. They're too small." "Right. Since you all apparently have let everything slip your minds, here's the plan—" she counted everything off by holding up fingers, one by one. "One. Board the train. We can follow the canyon and get on the roof. Two. Make our way to the conductor's car, get in somehow. Three. Get the key to the freight car from the conductor." "I hear this train's chock full of lawmen, though. Keep your hands on your guns and be prepared to bleed. Alright?"

He inspected his own revolver, pushing the cylinder to the side as he saw the red-colored pellets in the chamber, before closing it again. "...lawmen, i believe, is an old term for security officers."

"I'm prepared to bleed for you!" Eiheu raised her hand up towards T'leka. "Also, who are you?" She asked.

“Understood. Although I hope too much bleeding isn’t necessary.” She exhaled, looking ahead. It wasn’t a bad simulation, and she would probably have played through this on a whim, minus the current circumstances. Maybe the bandit life was something she ought to have tried.

".. you hit your head or something, kid? T'leka." she answered, puzzled. "Am I gonna have to leave you on watch duty while the rest of us get rich?"

"Shoot the door by its lock and hinges." Maya also suggested for breaking into the conductors car. *"That's our boss, afterall. The meanest, most ruthless lookin, bandit person in this side of...." *Maya looked around for a minute. She doesn't know American geography, that's Paco's job. "Wyoming...Nevada? Oregon??? Either way, I'm locked, loaded, and ready to get some cash."

”Well… this seems promising.” She smiled deviantly to herself. If the program demanded for a fake-blood-sacrifice for them to manage to shut it down she had a few targets in mind… a certain Vulcan and some engies that could do well with some old west fun! “Let’s get loaded, boss! I have a good old drink waiting for me somewhere to celebrate a job well done.”

“What’s your poison?” She asked Garcia, hoping to make casual conversation without getting too caught up on the whole situation.

”I fancy myself an old fashioned or a marguerita. How about you?” Maybe getting some after the program had ended could be a good idea.

“I’m partial to Romulan ale, honestly, or most wines.” She chuckled, flipping her ponytail out of her face and over her shoulder, “Although an old fashioned does fit the occasion, I must say.”

"Huh-? No, I wanna get rich too-!" Eiheu answered quickly. Judging by the general menacing vibes of T'leka, Eiheu figured that she was probably the big boss of the bandits.

“I don’t drink. Not often, anyhow. But when i do, On The Rocks.” He made sure his braids were laid back as well, as to not get in his way while he rode. “…now, how do i ride this ‘fancy’ beast?”

“That’s quite fair. A cold drink is always better.” She responded, nodding along, “…And I believe you just need to hold on tight.”

One of the horses was flying away.

“Hold on very tight. Wow.” She blinked, watching it in utter shock. (edited)

"Thats a runaway horse. First one i've ever seen." Sak watched in disbelief.

His face visibly dropped into horror as he looked at the flying horse, before blinking speedily. “…wha-… i… uh… wha??”

"... huh, Paco's not here." Maya said as she reached over to her pocket and lit a cigarette, a fine lady's choice for a smoko "the saying should probably be 'when horses fly' instead of pigs, huh?"

"... Now what kind of an idiot would leave their horse without tying it to the ground first-?" Eiheu wondered out loud. How likely was it that this was Eiheu's horse?

He had to visibly stifle a chuckle that came from him, trying to maintain at least a little professionalism as he placed a fist over his mouth.

”It’s probably off to visit Dorothy. Watch out for houses falling!” Amazing things happened on these holodecks indeed.

“I doubt we’re in Kansas anymore.” She quipped, grinning.

"Ah bet a round o' drinks on me if the horse lands on the train." Maya offered to Garcia and Suun before she took a draw of her cigarrete, good gamblings always fun

"Who's Kansas??" Eiheu asked, not understanding any of these Earth references.

“And who is Dorothy?” He asked, watching in awe as the horse made its way into the sky.

“I’m in.” She laughed, “And… it’s a book. From earth. A girl gets sent to a magical land, or something, from a tornado.”

"Kansas is a place, not a person." He corrected "And Dorothy is a person from an old movie." (edited)

"And a yellow brick road." Maya added "they made following it a big deal."

“…that’s not how tornadoes work, i believe, Suun.” He sighs, all this waiting was getting him anxious.

”Ohhhhh we can introduce you later!!!” She beamed and smiled wide at rhem. “Movie night! The book is the original but the classic movie is so good!”

Oh, sweet, sweet spirits. Saren looked around, then, utterly unsure of how proficient people here were as riders. Did it matter much? And what if one of the steeds glitches?.. "Okay, look. The reins are used to urge your horse to stop, go, or turn - it'll go where it's head is pointing at. You can encourage it to go faster with a nudge of your heels or a squeeze of your calves. Also, you have to sit proper," he demonstrated, "to keep proper balance. The gait is bouncier than you expect, so try to, ah... rock along with it?"

“Creative liberties, my friend.” She nodded, agreeing silently with Garcia as they rode.

"So... The book had flying horses in it? What did they do about it?" Eiheu asked to either Suun, or Garcia, or whoever was listening that had the answer.

"yes." Maya answered "There was also a scare crow who needed a heart, a lion without a brain, and a tin man who's scared of everything."

He watched the horse fly into the horizon. Damn. Kinda beautiful. "Thanks for the tutorial, Saren. Alright, crew, enough jokin' around, let's start followin' this train." He gave the horse a bit of a squeeze with his heels. It was probably not programmed to behave like an actual horse, so he imagined it was probably easier to ride. This wasn't horse simulator 5000 (a holosim he'd spoogle searched for Saren's birthday once).

Sidak nodded in acknowledgment at Saren’s instructions, very thankful that he wouldn’t be doing this with zero knowledge on how to make this horse go somewhere. At least it was cute, right? He squeezed his calves slightly, and that was enough to get the horse going in the direction that Mo was headed, towards the train.

”I mean she was on a house and the wind carried it with her, and sometimes tornados do work like that. Heard of a guy that once was carried by the wind on his campus due to a storm and the professor didn’t even discount the absence. Brutal.” She nodded to Saren and then the captain. Oh the captain was here! Hi captain! She was not a professional rider by any means but it was not her first time on a horse. She would probably not fall. She hoped.

"Well that doesn't make any sense!" Eiheu said to Maya. "Tin men don't need to be scared of anything, they're made of tin! And scarecrows don't need hearts! And lions don't need brains! Wait-" Maybe it was someone else who didn't need a brain.

"Yeesh, human cinema is so confusing." He turned his attention towards his own horse. "So uh, I just sit on it, nudge it with my heels to move and move the reins to make it turn, right?"

“We’ll go over the story later, friends. Listen to the captain.” She exhaled, trying not to crack up as she adjusted her seat on the horse. It was surprisingly easier than expected, considering she hadn’t ridden any mountable animal for a few decades.

At the instructions, he looked down, and grabbed the reins, gently squeezing his calves, and as the beast moved, he repeatedly whispered ‘ow’ under his breath as he felt the pain in his groin, following the Captain. (edited)

"It makes perfect sense. They all walk a brick road to go to some big shots castle house, but run away from a witch who wanted the girls shoes. But no time for that for now" Maya saif to Eiheu before she readied up her horse and armed herself. "We got a heist to do... you're still in the bet on if the horse lands on the train right?" Maya said before she leaned over to Garcia to ask that.

"Basically," he nodded. "Though I imagine these horses are... well trained, and might be easier to ride than most." He decided to ignore the ongoing discussion. Did some people not read fairy tales or legends or such? They persisted in every species... whatever. With a gentle click of his tongue and an encouraging nudge, he trotted along, following the team and making his way to the front of the line.

Eiheu noticed everyone else getting on horses, and looked around for her horse. She found a horse that seemed to be unclaimed. It was black with a very long black mane, and although it was tall, it was just about short enough for Eiheu to be able to climb on it. Now, how to tell it where to go... "Uhh... So, how do you control a horse-? Do you like, talk to it or something-?"

“Were you not listening to his instructions? They were very helpful.” He said very earnestly, gesturing over to Saren.

”Yes! Movie night later, train heist now! And count me in on the bet! YEEEEEEEHAW!” Garcia gave a firm slap and squeeze to Panqueca’s sides with her calves and off the horse went. It seemed happy enough to run so it decided against yeeting her to the horizon herself for that excited start, which was a positive. She soon realized her mistake though, as Panqueca started to outrun the others, passing Saren and Mo, and she braced for balance. “Ah! Wait wait wait.” She tried gently pulling at the reins, and to her luck Panqueca did fall into a slower trot. “Sorry pal, we can run later, promise! We gotta keep up with them.”

Verelan was... struggling. There were no beasts of burden on Praetor 3, despite it being a farming planet, and while she was currently somewhat out of the way of the head of the riding beast (which was at least as big as her entire torso, if not bigger) she was now way too far off the ground. And to make matters worse, it seemed the holodeck experience was not nice enough to her to make horseriding an automatic experience. At least for her. Maybe it sensed fear. "I want to know the controls, too," she agreed with Eiheu, voice noticeably shaky.

"Do you want me to ride by your side? I can try to teach you the basics," listen he might as well loop back and check up on everyone. Bandit role or no bandit role, it was still Saren after all.

"Imma name you.... Marlboro." Maya said to her horse as she petted it and tried to move forward a few steps based on Saren's good instructions. "I would give you an apple if I could.... can horses have apples? I know they feed horses apples in TV and books, but never sure if thats good for them."

“I don’t think so, but- ow- how do i avoid the pain in my loins as i ride Strider?- ow-“ He was still sitting regularly. He didn’t hear the part about moving with it did he? (edited)

“I believe it will just hurt.” She replied, “I don’t know how people do it. This is not… an extremely good long-term solution.”

"Maybe try standing on it-?" Eiheu suggested unhelpfully.

"So he falls and breaks his neck?" genuinely what the fuck.

"Well, just don't fall! It can't be that difficult!" She replied back.

No time for that. The train was approaching!

"Yes, please help." Anyone who knew Verelan probably hadn't known her voice could get that small.

“R-right…” He awkwardly chuckles, standing up on the horse. He sighs in relief, groaning afterwards. “That’s- SO much better. Anyways - train is approaching, i think.”

"Trains comin! Everyone saddle up and get ready!" Maya yelled out as she heared the approaching train

Not K'Graarra, the horse just sent him off its back.

Watching all this go down, Sidak just tentatively patted his own horses neck. “I will not do that to you, I promise.” He whispered to the creature.

“Wha-“ He fell of his horse, down onto the ground, wincing as he held his back. “Guh- my back…!” (edited)

"Everyone get ready to jump!" T'leka shouted over her shoulder, gripping the reins with a wild look in her eyes.

The wild look was definitely a surprise, but a welcome one. Maybe this would be good experience for cutting loose. Suun shifted again, preparing to jump from a horse to a moving train— fun stuff, very fun stuff.

Eiheu looked forward at the oncoming train, and forgot about controlling the horse in favour of getting herself ready to jump. She focused on the train intently, waiting for just the right moment...

Sak gripped the reins of his horse, Butter Waffle(as he named it after his favorite human dish), and got ready to jump from Butter Waffle to the oncoming train. Every fibre of his body became tense, waiting, for the right time. His breathing slowed, and he put all his focus on the train.

“You’re right with us, yes?” She turned to look at T’leka, “Or are we doing this on our own without you?”

"Right behind you!" she answered. Time to jump onto the #train-roof !!!!!!!!!

"Yee-haw!" He jumped to the roof!

Eiheu jumped off her horse and onto the train right as it approached...

"Hyah!" Maya yelled out as she did the thing cowboys in movies do to make their horses run faster as she prepared to jump on the roof. This was great! Been a really long while since the first time she rode a horse, probably like when she was a kid. She should do this again some time.

He sat up, rubbing his back still, but as he opened his eyes, he saw the gang moving further away. His eyes widen in surprise, and he quickly makes sure his revolver is in his holster, and looks over at his horse, getting up and running over to it, climbing back onto the saddle and smacking the reins, hoping to make Strider go forward. “C’mon you beast, catch up!”

Somehow, jumping off of a galloping horse was the least insane thing Saren had to do today. With a goodbye pat to her neck and a whispered "good girl," he pounced off of the saddle and onto the roof with grace.

After a moment of a lot of hesitation and enough cursing to make a sailor blush, she jumped!!!

Slowly but surely, K’Graarra and Strider (the horse) was catching up, shawl flowing behind in the wind, same for his braids, he watched as Vovvi had jumped, and sighed, realising he needed to do that too. “…curses…” He could practically hear the tense song of brass instruments in the wind as he managed to catch up (with slight delay), and stood up again, full gallop still, then letting one hand go of the reins… then the other. He made sure the revolver on his side was secure, and sprang for it!
