Star Trek: Starbase 777 - ndn-transporter-room

The away team was beamed into the transporter room.

Vara'l glanced about their surroundings as he materialized alongside the other away team members in the transporter room. The Romulan calm as he commenced a silent assessment of what ever sight they were presented with.

Vara stepped out in her black uniform and stayed in the back, she didn’t exactly trust anyone normally, much less this crew and their sus captain.

Copia materalized alongside Vara'l, feeling the ground solidify underneath her as she fully was transported onto the transporter pad. Huh! This wasn't too different than what she was used to. However, she still felt a bit on edge. Moreso than usual. Thankfully, she didn't grab for her phaser, she just kept her hands to the side while quickly looking to ensure the away team made it safe and sound, and in full, to the New Dawn. This was going to be interesting, to say the least.

As soon as they materialised on the other side, Lama felt a sharp chill run up his spine, causing a visible shiver. He felt... Terrible. As if he suddenly got food poisoning or something, but he didn't feel that any part of his body was actually unwell. "... Umm.. I don't feel good," Lama didn't want to bail on the away mission wen they literally just got there, but he was feeling very distressed. Maybe it was all of that mint chocolate chip ice cream he scarfed down a few hours ago catching up to him.

Senang looked over Lama worriedly, having materialised next to him. "Will you be alright?" he asked genuinely, fully prepared to ask to have him beamed back if necessary.

"Umm.... I think so... Uhh, maybe we should go to sickbay first though," Lama thought maybe that would be a good place to start and maybe they could consult with the doctor a little?

Eshen beamed in with Allan, still holding hands... Or were they? Were you allowed to hold hands during transportation? What if you ended up joined by the hand forever? The ultimate Vulcan scandal. "Do we have any engineers other than my boyfriend to go to engineering and check everything over?" Or pretend to, anyway. (edited)

"Yeah, let's split into two groups, one sickbay and one engineering," Lama realised that maybe they ALL shouldn't stay together, there were quite a lot of them, this wasn't some sort of dance off or rap battle where the whole crew needed to walk together. Plus... Yeah, they were here to investigate some lights, so engineering.

"I wouldn't mind taking a look at the sickbay either." She looked over to Lama, trying to get a rough idea of how they were doing. “It might be a good place to start if what is happening here has a medical cause.”

"I will come with you," Senang told Lama. If the security officer really was sick and there was something wrong with this ship, he'd prefer if someone he knew would be able to protect the other was there with him. "Let's take the three of us, then," he told Mirrim, including her in their little party.

“My tech skills more relate to sabotage, but I can go with team techie.”

Copia's eyes turned to Vara before returning to a neutral expression. "I shall assist the engineering team in their endeavors as I believe I will be best suited to provide insight into the problems that the New Dawn is having technologically... And to keep an eye on the Ensign." Of course Copia didn't have any personal vendetta against Vara. Her tone in the last part of her remark was slightly joking.

Vara'l watched Lama carefully as they went from the visible shiver to actively taking the initiative and gathering themselves. Watched them carefully for a moment as he attempted to spot any more signs that they happened to be...a tad more than unwell. Watched them and then turned his focus to the task at hand. "I rather agree with the two groups, Lieutenant Senang, as you're heading to the sickbay with that group, I'll accompany the engineering team." He commented then.

People were transported all the time holding eachother to sickbay. Surely you could transport holding hands. Or could you? The world may never know. "If... we do have someone -" he started to say, looking for some yellow in the room but then heard Vara, "I'm sorry... what?" Sabotage?

Vara blinked. “Oh, ex thief hi! Not important, you know! Mission mission.”

When Lieutenant Allan then proceeded to say that, Vara'l turned not to them but to Vara, the individual he'd now become accustomed to assuming happened to say such things. "...What?" Was all he initially managed, honestly surprised someone would make such a comment on another ship with a big question mark over it when it came to the crew. Especially when it happened to be the case that a ships crew could fairly well have the transporter room under surveillance if they were so minded.

Senang nodded at Vara'l as the other Tactical officer slotted himself into the Engineering team, together with the ACEO, an android, and an intelligence officer. "Aye, sir. Would anyone else prefer to come with us?" they asked into the group, not responding at all to the thief situation going on right now. It wasn't their concern at the moment. He would keep to the task, and make sure everyone was taken care of while they were out.

"Hey.... Announcing your crimes and stuff isn't cool," Lama frowned at the Andorian and shook his head.

Copia's eyes popped open - she evidently did not know that Vara was an ex-thief, as evidently a number of the other members of the away team weren't aware either. Yeah... Copia made the right decision to go to engineering. In the back of her mind Copia was worried Vara might be conspiring with the New Dawn, but she quickly dismissed that thought - nothing had given her the inclination that Vara even knew what the New Dawn was, and her reaction to Tewari was certainly not something a conspirator would justify. So Vara was in the clear. Kind of. Ex-thief. But Copia decided to give Vara the benefit of the doubt, and stayed quiet.

"Ensign Zh'rahlor, need I remind you that we're on the ship of an allied power, its likely not going to be appreciated if we go about aboard it tossing about words like the one you utilized, it may well be that announcing ones previous convicitions will also not be appreciated either..." The Romulan commented calmly, the Lieutenant commanders storm grey eyes fixed on the ensign. "Especially when it is entirely a possibility that we're presently under surveillance."

Vara shrugged. “Right, sorry boss.”

Mirrim followed the conversation with a light frown, before shaking her head and turning to the people headed for the sickbay. She lowered her voice slightly, before proposing the 'plan' she'd come up with. "Once we're in the sickbay, I'll request that I may check over the Lieutenant, since we want to make sure they are fine. You can use the time that this takes to take a look around and I'll try to check if there's anything amiss with the medical equipment that might hint towards anything going on?" She was wording this as a question hoping for input.

"Wait... should we also be going to the quarters area too?" Lama chimed up, thinking with so many people, they could split into even smaller groups. After standing in the transporter room for a few more minutes he was starting to get used to the weird vibes. Or maybe it was all of his Tal Shiar mental training kicking in that was helping him seal off his mind from the vibes. "I can go to quarters, actually. I... I am feeling a little better."

"Yeah, we're here to check out some lighting shit, not..." talk about past crimes and sabotage was the part that Vara'l thankfully said out loud. To be quite honest, it was a little hard to follow who was going to engineering without the fun color coding that had been so helpful last time, but things would be okay! "So... yeah! Lights! Anyone going to engineering to fix the fuckin' lights, let's, uhh-" he grinned and stepped towards the entryway, "do exactly that, yeah? Engineering?" And if nobody protested, he would do exactly that. Go to engineering.

"But you feeiling sick is a good reason to check the sickbay..." Mirrim didn't want to be disrespectful, but she couldn't prevent her disappointment from showing up in her voice non the less.

“I’m going with lights team, I wouldn’t be much help with the sickbay team. I’d be interested if this ship has any Intel officers, but time and place.”

Senang raised his eyebrows, worried, but didn't comment on the change of heart. "If you're sure, lieutenant," he just said, before looking at Mirrim. "Two would be doable, if you're not opposed, ma'am," he told her, though he was still looking around if someone would join their team.

Vara'l started a brief headcount as he attempted to mentally calculate how many people happened to be present and how many individuals could split into what groups. A calculation he ceased abruptly upon the realization that at least one person had just started to walk off. "I'd suggest that nobody head off alone, if we're going to split into more groups, lets ensure we're all in com contact. we don't want to irk our hosts by scattering about the ship in singles making this 'wellness check' potentially take longer than it should." Vara'l started to move to follow the others from the engineering group as he turned to look at Lieutenant tr'Ehweia. "..Lieutenant, if you're still feeling a tad out of sorts, a visit to the sickbay before you head to the quarters might be a thought, what's the human expression.. better safe than sorry?" (edited)

"... I don't think there's anything wrong with my physical health ahh... I don't know how to explain this but... I'm Betazoid," Lama initially thought it was his ice cream eating session that was causing his bad feelings, but he was almost certain it was a mental thing, something about the vibes. "Who is coming to quarters with me?"

Copia's expression went immediately to a smile. Allan certainly knew how to change the vibe of a mission! You know... Engie Squad™️-- wait... "Does that mean I'm... Engie Squad?" Copia said, almost as if her tone of voice and face were the emoji. Copia would do anything to be part of the honorary Engie Squad™️ especially today!

Allan nodded at Vara'l, still sort of hanging by the entryway as he mentioned that. "Absolutely, sir. Comms contact is quite the necessity," he agreed, hearing as Vara said she'd be going with him, and Copia- "yes. It means our #EngieSquad is made of one engineer and some people who claim to know a lot about lights," he said with a bit of a chuckle. "And that's okay! Anyone else is welcome to follow, but... yeah! All coming, all going...?"

"But..." She didn't actually want to check over Lama just because they were feeling bad, really it was supposed to be a distraction with the added benefit of a health check up. Turning towards Senang she signed. "Well if you're fine with being my replacement 'patient', sir I believe we could still make this work."

Immediately Copia's face LIT up. Like... LIT up. Not actually lit up but if it could, it would. "I'm... #EngieSquad!!!" Copia said, almost as if she was told she just won the lottery.

Vara blinked. “Why are we talking in hashtags? Eh, who cares. #Engiesqaud.”

"Yeah, wishing you guys good luck with the lights," Another wave of uneasiness washed over Lama, but this time he chose to ignore it. Maybe he was just feeling tired or maybe the crowd of people around him had so many emotions it was messing with his empathy. Anyway, he was looking forward to heading to quarters and chatting up some dudes.

"Commander, if I may, perhaps it would be wise for you to accompany the Lieutenant to investigate the quarters," he told Vara'l, not wanting the Betazoid to go off on his own. "I am fine being a replacement patient," he added to Mirrim.

Allan laughed at the way Copia's face lit up, and nodded when they both said #EngieSquad. Perfect. "No, Lieutenant, we're #EngieSquad. Now, let's go." And then was when he gestured for them to follow him - and anyone else who did - out of the room and into the #ndn-corridors .

Vara'l moved a bit further down the corridor as he moved to ensure that the individual he was pretty sure he'd seen who'd just started off down the corridor wasn't out of sight. "Lets be getting going, he'd say to them all." He then looked to the Tac Lieutenant and considered the numbers at present. "Your suggestion is sound, Lieutenant." He'd then looked to Lama. "Care for some company?" (edited)

Copia practically dashed behind Allan, without actually running, following him into the #ndn-corridors. Allan was right - it was a 'we' effort. There'd be no Squad without multiple members!

"Wahh, really? Nice!" Lama gave Vara'l a thumbs up and smiled through the mental pain he was feeling. "Just two Romulans heading to quarters, wooo!" Lama put both of his hands up in the air and wiggled his fingers very fast. "Alright, let's head to #ndn-corridors," They would split off in the corridors, but for now, they could all hang together.

"Indeed" Vara'l smiled then as he watched the other like a hawk, conscious of the fact that the environment here happened to not be agreeing at all with the other, something which he reckoned probably boded rather poorly for how things were aboard ship. "Sounds like a plan." With that, he followed the Lieutenant to #ndn-corridors

He gave Allan's hand one final squeeze before he left, because as much as he wanted to stay with him, he honestly didn't think he'd be much use in Engineering of all places. He wouldn't even know how to pretend to fix the lights. "I've come down with a sudden case of transporter sickness, so I'm going to go to sickbay." More like investigate it. It's possible if there was something going on on this ship that wasn't immediately obvious, it could be some kind of disease.

Vara marched after the #EngieSquad with a small hum.

"Right then, sir, we should probably be on our way to #ndn-sickbay to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with you and also that beaming you back to the Eventide later won't cause any issues." Mirrim gave the people headed towards the sickbay a small smile and turned towards the corridor.

Senang was more comfortable with three than with two, and hoped their group would be able to stay safe. He nodded at Eshen, and then followed after Mirrim into the corridor. Best case scenario, everything was fine, the lights were just odd, and they could all go home in an hour or two.

Eshen had the horrible realisation that they'd all just done that thing where you say goodbye to someone and all walk in the same direction, as they all made their way into #ndn-corridors to get to the other places they needed to be.
