To say the recreation area was now nearly impossible to navigate was an understatement. With the artificial gravity offline, books, sports equipment, and snacks form a floating maze that the rescue team will be forced to navigate.

Curiosity sure kills the cat! Or.. it might, if C’Tessa wasn’t careful. She grabbed hold of anything mildly stable in order to propel herself forward, looking and listening around for any people that might be trapped. The benefits of being small were that she could fit between gaps easier. “Hey, if anyone’s in here, yell so I can find you!” She called out.

There was a yell of “Help!” deeper in, somewhere near the gym. It looked hellish to get through.

“Damn, you’re like, really stuck! I’m coming, don’t worry!” Yeah.. that did look hellish. She tried to stick closer to the floor to kind of propel herself by pushing off of it, hoping to fit through the gaps caused by everything floating, PRAYING the gravity wouldn’t turn back on. But she was hoping she’d be fast enough that she wouldn’t have to worry. C’Tessa was on the hunt! And with that, she beelined towards the gym.

Soaring through a minefield of weights, basketballs, and the odd stationary bike or two, C’Tessa arrived in the gym to find a few of the civilians currently held behind a floating cage of cables and wires from when some of the equipment slammed into the ceiling. “We’re stuck!!” (edited)

Ens. C’Tessa | INT BOT 15-Mar-26 05:05 PM
Not knowing what any of those wires did, C’Tessa didn’t want to risk cutting them and having everyone become deep-fried C’Tessa and Civilians. She waved to everyone (she had to be polite, yknow). “Alright guys, I’m gonna get you all out, and we’ll head back to the docking bay. Can you all try and stay still so you won’t get any more tangled?” She said, lacking her usual sarcastic, playful bite. The situation didn’t call for it. She set about trying to untangle the wires trapping the first civilian , pushing the wires out of the way and hooking them on anything she could in order for them not to float back down.

“We’re staying still as best we can, but- I mean- We’re a little aimless here,” One of the civilians said, drifting gently around through the space they’re trapped in.

And coming right behind her was Marze! Occasionally getting a book or sports equipment to bump on her head. Not that it hurt much. “Woah, quite a spider web we have here. Are any of you injured?”

“Cambry has a broken arm, and a couple of us got cut with glass when the solar array got crushed,” One reported.

Well shit.. C’Tessa wasn’t a doctor. She used to be an engineer, but she wasn’t even like, a structural engineer, she was a software engineer. Unless you were made of code, she didn’t have the first clue on how to fix you. “We’ve got medical staff in the docking bay who can help, we’ve just got to get you guys out first.” She said, still working on untangling all the wires to free the civilians. She also took a glance around to see if there was a first aid kit or something floating by to use to control the bleeding from that glass.

Y’know what? Yeah. There’s a first aid kit floating around in a small orbit around a fire extinguisher.

”Alright, keep calm and try to stay as stable as possible.” There was always the threat of gravity suddenly coming back as well. That would not be pretty, with everything falling at once, including the people that were already injured. She moved to work along with C’Tessa trying to detangle the wires enough to get space for them to pass through, a small window is all she needed for them to slip through considering the lack of gravity.

A C’Tessa-sized hole was the first that would be made.

And if C’Tessa fits, C’Tessa goes! She snatched up the nearby conveniently floating first aid kit, and clambered into the hole. She opened it, snatched a roll of gauze out of it, and snapped it shut before everyone else could float out. She looked around, trying to judge who had the worst cuts that she should patch up first. “Who’s the worst off, cut-wise?” She asked. Do not ask C’Tessa to comfort people. She is shit at it.

Aoife navigated her way through the debris field with a certain grace unexpected in someone of her background. She looked on at the civilians trapped in a web of cables. "Wow, that's unexpected. Anyone got a knife or something to cut through Sheelob's web here?"

C’Tessa was directed to a civilian with a large gash across his chest.

Ens. C’Tessa | INT BOT 15-Mar-26 05:34 PM
C’Tessa’s wheelhouse did not include extensive first aid skills, but as the only tiny creature able to fit through that hole, it was up to her anyhow. She floated over to him, opening up the kit to see if there was a pain relief hypo or something in there. She found one, grabbed it, and shut the kit again before administering it (thank God she had taken a first aid course recently just of her own free will). Hopefully that would dull the pain a little. She wadded up a bunch of gauze and pressed it to the gash, remembering pressure stopped bleeding. Then, she wound more gaze around his chest to keep the wad in place. Hopefully that was an okay patch job for now. There wasn’t much in that kit. On to the next injured civilian!

Oh great, in came Lt. Cdr. O’Rielly. Well, she did not allow herself to duel on any personal feelings she might be feeling right now. “We don’t know if theres anything running through them that could cause harm.” As she managed a decent sized hole, considering she was a pretty buff gal, she called the civilians over. “Hey whoever does not need immediate bleeding attention from the Ensign there, come over here! We’ll start to try and get you out one by one!” Getting herself in so she might get stuck with the civilians? Nop. Her objective was to get them out of here and back into the docking bay. “I could use your help Commander.” To keep the hole steady and maybe even get it a bit larger as people crossed over. (edited)

“Yeah, I don’t wanna get fried!” C’Tessa called to Marze, about the wires thing. She went around treating everyone who needed immediate attention, before she started helping everyone towards the Marze-sized hole.

”Alright one at a time! Grab anything u can to keep steady to move around after you pass through.” She started to help in pulling people over to the other side, offering her hand to each civilian.

A small train of civilians began to pass through the hole in the wires with Marze and C’Tessa’s help. However, one was still staying behind. Cambry, the one reported to have a broken arm, was staying in the corner of the gym, clutching her arm.

Aoife got stuck in holding the hole in the wires open and doing what she could to make it wider.

She noticed the last civilian left. ”Hey, I’m assuming you’re the broken arm girl?” Marze had not been able to properly locate her before, though her name had been mentioned. “Cambry? Think you can get over here?”

Cambry shook her head, and half-signed with her healthy arm that she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to move safely.

The Klingon-Romulan sighed softly. "Okay, I'm coming over." She looked at C'Tessa and Aoife. "Just make sure the passage is stable and keep those others as organized as possible so we can leave when I get her. Ensign, do you have any bandages on that kit left?"
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Aoife O'Rielly | INT BOT 15-Mar-26 06:22 PM
Aoife saw to clearing a traversable path for the injured people as Marze saw to the broken arm. Aoife wasn't one to fix a broke arm, she was usually the one doing the breaking.

Assuming C'Tessa was able to pass her a roll of bandages, Marze made her way through the hole, wiggling not in a very graceful way but that did get her to move through. Using one of the equipment pieces around she propelled herself with her feet, landing next to the woman by the wall. "Okay lets see... you shouldn't be moving that, I can try to keep it still." Marze was not a medical officer but she knew a thing or two about stabilizing wounds when it came to rescue. A few turns with the bandages between Cambry's shoulder and the arm and she would be able to keep it on a makeshift sling. "How that feels?"
Avatar
Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 06:28 PM
Cambry winced as Marze put a sling on her, the mute woman letting out very quiet sounds of pain before she gave a little thumbs up to Marze. Time to move.

"Alright, you can give me your good hand if you wanna. I'm betting I have enough leg strength to get us both flying through if I give the wall a good kick." There was a confident smile there, and she offered her own hand out. She didn't want to risk the other having to grab into something else along the way or bumping that arm anywhere.

She nodded and then took hold of Marze’s hand, taking in a deep breath to prepare herself.

C’Tessa helped Aoife clear the path ahead. God, she hoped she was doing a good job, especially in front of fellow Intel people.

She nodded back and, placing both feet on the wall, she bended her knees to give a good push. They both went on a clear line, Marze coliding with the net of cables and wires not far from the hole they had managed to open, maneuvering herself so that Cambry, if needed, would land next against her and not against the tangled mess. "Okay, now we go through and then I think we are good to move back to the docks." She gestured towards the passage and helped the other to move towards it and then against it. She only came out herself once Cambry was safely on the other side.
Avatar
Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 06:40 PM
Cambry was indeed safe! Marze, C’Tessa, and Aoife now had about 15 civilians to babysit and get to the docking bay safely.

Lt. JG. Marze G’khar | SEC BOT 15-Mar-26 06:46 PM
"Alright lets get going! Use the objects and walls around to move like you saw us do." As they were talking about 15 civilians, it was a very high possibility that none of them had ever received any training on zero 0 scenarios, less even on how to rescue people on those. "If anyone gets stuck or left behind, don't try to help them out, just let one of the three of us know and we will go back for them as safely as possible. Everyone understood?"
Avatar
Ens. C’Tessa | INT BOT 15-Mar-26 06:46 PM
“I’ll go first and start moving stuff out the way, we’ll be able to get everyone through this maze easier if we have a clear path.” C’Tessa said, allowing herself to float into the air again before going forward, nudging debris away so the path was clear.

The recreation area suddenly became eerily quiet as the alarms eked out one last klaxon before dying. The civilians, panicked as they were, nodded to Marze and prepared themselves to follow.

She eyed the other two officers with a 'I REALLY don't like the sound of that' look, choosing not to voice any of her concerns. Their priority was to get the people out while they still could. She begun to move out with the group, keeping herself on the tail as to help anyone who might need.

"We'd better get a move on." Aoife said at the end of the group of civilians. We don't have long if life supports out.
