"Steadiest hands on Beta Aquilae II's campus" - he remembered that sentence being thrown around quiet a bit in the pilot training section, back when he was just a cadet. And somehow, even now, Syrax managed to stay true to that, despite the time loop, the paradox, and the horrific implications of having "one last shot". Somehow, that lack of uncertainty and clear stakes... only made him more confident. More steady.
Gently he urged Eventide to slow down until she stopped, the escape pods flocking to her like tiny larvae to a mother-fish; the Romulan sighed, letting his hands slide off of the console to rest at it's corners, a phantom memory of something like heat briefly licking his skin; he shrugged it off in favor of others, to whom the helmsman turned.
Spotting the poor cadet, Syrax leaned towards her, murmuring a quiet but hopefully reassuring: "Hey-- you're okay. We did it. Do you need a moment? If you do, you or we can go take a walk in the ship's corridors. Sometimes it helps me become a little bit more grounded."
