“…nice place,” The Trill muttered as they were led into this tiny house with bunkbeds. Must be some kind of temporary barracks. He didn’t imagine the Tal Shiar set up prison cells with their first buildings at a forward outpost. That’d just be wasting resources, wouldn’t it? Kiadras gave a glance to the group that was about to get locked in alongside him, and started weighing options. Now was the time to figure out their next moves. “Do we get a subspace call at all?” He raised his voice from the end of the house toward the Ennarain, “Anything?”

Annarok had been put into Cell One — more of a bunkhouse than a proper cell. As they scanned the room, they bit their lip, taking in the faces around them.“Well, at least we’re alive. Could be worse…”The words rang hollow as the memories of their own imprisonment on the T'Nexarix resurfaced. Their fingers traced absent patterns against their hands, trying to remain calm..

Tavek was actually standing quite close to Annarok, though the android was too lost in his own thoughts to notice him. He was thinking about what was going to happen. Sure… the bunkhouse looked better than a cell, but that didn’t mean they were going to be treated nicely at all. They certainly wouldn’t treat Tavek nicely if they knew what he was, he knew that. He had his hands clasped together, thankful for his gloves hiding his joints.

There, in a doorway, this man looked even more intimidating, his height and bulk blocking the entrance like a wall. Kiadras' question didn't get an answer out of him - not a verbal one, anyways. His hand twitched upwards on a reflex as if to sign, but instead a better idea had occurred. Their guard pulled out some small device, which turned on with a beep. It almost looked like a small walkie-talkie. "Who you gonna call? Federation?" it stated, accentuated by his shrug. A joke, perhaps. "You will get food soon. After you eat and have a short rest, I will ask you some questions."

Annarok’s gaze swept the room once more when something — no, someone — caught their eye. A face they actually recognized. It took a moment for the pieces to click, the years weathering the memory, but there was no mistaking it. Haekis. A far more polished version, perhaps, but the android was unmistakable. “Haekis?!” Disbelief and warmth collided in their voice as they stepped forward, eyes wide. Without thinking, they closed the short distance, their arms wrapping tightly around the android in a firm embrace. “What are you doing here, of all places?” They pulled back just enough to take in them, their grin tempered by the lingering disbelief. “It’s been too long, " They pulled back just enough to take in Haekis, their grin faltering as the weight of the situation settled in. The joy of reunion clashed with the grim reality — an android, here, within a Tal Shiar prison. That could only mean trouble. Whatever this was, it wasn’t going to be simple.

The name shot through him like an electric shock directly to his memory drive. A name he had been forced to give up almost.. six years ago. The name that was -his. Haekis, the Resistance member, one of the people who made the whole fight possible through the logistics work. And that name could only mean.. Before his brain could compute, someone was hugging him. He pulled back, almost fighting for a moment before realizing who it was, instantly returning the hug. “Annarok! Sir, you’re here?” “I-I’m so sorry we fell out of touch- and that we have to meet again here.” He said, the last part laced thick with disgust. “It has..” He said, sort of leaning against the man. He knew too about how grim this reality was. He hadn’t been expecting to be caught like this. One slip-up would mean him being destroyed, for good.

His gaze lingered on Kya for a few moments before his shoulders relaxed from the tensed-up position they had been in. As far as Kiadras was concerned, he could handle a lot of the stuff thrown at him. It made sense to put him in front of a barreling train when he could bounce off the cow catcher and be fine, didn’t it? If all the Tal Shiar’s paying attention to the Trill that keeps putting his thumb in their eyes, then they’re not looking at the other tactical commander and the intel agent and the medical officers, now are they? But he wasn’t stupid. He wasn’t going to shove his way out when everyone else was telling him otherwise, “…so what’re we gonna do, then.”

Clatter, clatter, clatter. The tray sounded almost like a Christmas sled when he brought it in, the soup bowls clinking against each other in a slightly distorted fashion. Their guard no longer sported the Tal Shiar uniform. Instead, it was the utilitarian one, though the ski mask stayed the same, covering everything but his eyes. They hugged briefly before pulling away, still in disbelief that Haekis was here! * “I’m an exchange officer on Starbase 777 now and volunteered for this mission. Figured taking a swing at the Tal Shiar was worth the trip. How did you get here?” *They gave a quick glance toward the door, the tension still hanging in the air, a wry smile tugging at their lips whispering.“Yes, we’re in a bit of a predicament, but I’m sure we’ll manage. We always do.” They gave Haekis a reassuring nod. “Stick close.” As their captor talked about soup, Annarok’s stomach betrayed them with a loud growl. Having seemingly kept to himself for quite a while since the unfortunate turnings, all Sideon could think was a repeated string of rapid fire expletives growing in severity, most in English, but some from many languages he had managed to pick up and integrate. He was NOT happy with the current situation as his fight or flight has been screaming to fight, horrified by the thoughts of what everyone's fates might be. Yet, he knows its best to follow his superiors in the groups decisions, and as such he has found himself here. At least he is here and currently alive. He didn't partake in any of the food, even after it was scanned. Anxiety quelling any appetite that could have formed. He would sit aside from most, choosing to give himself the widest and clearest view of the entrance and anyone not of the party he arrived with. His hands clasped together with his elbows on his knees, eyes peering over his interlocked fingers. At least in this dark moment, he did find humour in some of his groups comments, audibly chuckling at Kya Poks remarks. Despite that, he remains to himself for now.

It took energy to process that food into something he could dump out later, energy that he didn’t know when he could replenish. He could be looking at quite a while without being able to recharge. That easy, huh. "Nice to meet you, Boar." He mulled over what to say next. He mulled the words Hhiudlir Caernu over in his head. 'Eye Thieves', huh. He couldn't say he was familiar. But then, anonymity was the name of the game in the Resistance. "I was part of Ssiun Mnei'daemnh, once, but we dissolved into the Republic in 2409." If what Temar was saying was false, he'd be in a shitting heap of trouble, which he deserved for taking a big risk. If Temar was being honest, though, as he'd said he would be, then this could work to build up a repertoire between the two of them. He mimed a "zip it" sort of sentiment towards the rest of his cellmates, though. No need to yap about this. "Or torture, or hold for ransom," he supplied, which all were more likely options than simply murdering all of them. Luring more than ten people on a mission just for them all to die within a day was ungraceful. The Tal Shiar knew better than that, usually. (edited)

"That, too." Vovvi's gaze lingered on Ev'kor for a moment too long, though she did not pry, nor was it judgemental in the slightest. 'For our freedom', huh. She leant forward with her elbows on her knees. Fuck it we ball, "I wasn't in any specific cell, but I was involved with the very beginnings of Republic intelligence. And — I know." Her gaze cast off to one side. "The word 'Intelligence' has unfortunate implications in Romulan space, which doesn't help my case, but.. I just hope it is believable enough?"

"Now you have something that could kill me, and I have something that could kill you," there was almost a hint of amusement in his voice - real voice. Like a spark of a firework. "I don't know what her intentions were - Vigil might find out, soon enough. A handful of agents were waiting on the clearing she brought you to. We just arrived faster. Anga has been our elusive target for a long time." He gave Ev'kor an acknowledging nod: "I see. As for us... I guess if you tell someone you met one, they will very likely not believe you." The joke was followed by a gentle breath - he talked a bit too much, it seemed. So Vovvi got an "It is," as a reply.

Ev'kor shot an intrigued look at Vovvi as she spoke. He hadn't known that about her... but it wasn't the place nor time to ask. "A standoff, then, though I'm sure we'll keep our fingers off the triggers." Only a handful of agents, though? There were at least a dozen of them, of whom several Vulcanoids, some Klingons, and a variety of trained tactical officers. Ev'kor felt almost insulted... but then, they did walk into the trap that had been laid for them. "We're all colleagues here, then," he told Temar.

Tavek, who had been contemplating turning himself off and on again to prove they weren’t Tal Shiar (his existence would’ve instantly disproved it, after all), was still sitting off to the side next to Annarok, slowly calming down upon hearing that Temar was also Resistance. He had heard a few whispered rumors about that group, nothing substantial, anonymity was certainly the name of the game in the Resistance. Tavek wasn’t about to volunteer his own status as a member of a cell, though- at least, not to the people here. In his mind, nobody could really be trusted with that knowledge except the people in other cells- so maybe Ev’kor could be trusted if he got to know him, but for now Annarok was the only person Tavek really trusted. So, he spoke vaguely, and in a quiet tone, seconding Ev’kor’s statement. “Yes, we’re all colleagues… all of us want the same thing. The Tal Shiar gone.”

A little half-smile, enough to raise the crows feet at the corners of her eyes. A very, very tired smile, but one nonetheless. "I'm glad we could come to something of an understanding.."

Hm, she didn’t know that Ev’kor and Vovvi were associated with the resistance (even if that upped her respect for them). She continued her push-ups in the corner as she listened to the conversation. “I’m more worried as to how we were even fooled into working with her.” She said simply.

"She likely infiltrated the Republic itself. It's not uncommon, among people like them; we're very secure, we're not stupid, but we can only protect ourselves so much against their technological capabilities, their strategizing, and... Well. Their perfectly written lies." Vovvi sighed. "We treasure our allies very much, because they are few and far between. Hence why we," gesturing vaguely to the group, "are here."

"Recordkeeping after the Great Loss has also been a nightmare. Every day people still turn up with missing or incomplete identification. You can do background checks forever, but what isn't there can't be verified." Ev'kor had seen it happen many a time, especially among his Reman comrades, but even among Romulans native to ch'Rihan this was a common occurrence.

"Infiltrations from other factions isn't uncommon, either," she clarified, slightly amused at the memory of his brother saying something similar. "I just carry a bit of hypocrisy when it's not us— well, the Republic — doing the infiltrating, hah."

"Indeed," the man nodded. "The Republic will need to look into potential sabotage. Which brings me to my next question - what would you do now? Because we intend to drive them out. You could be sent back home to... wherever you are from. Station, or ship." (edited)

“…well, you’ll never guess why we’re here,” The Trill said with a small chuckle. Of course they’re on the same side. To be fair to him, everyone else was rather convinced that these folks were Tal Shiar as well, but he just had to pull flank class/attention grabber when the people who locked them in this cabin were on the same page as them.

“Hopefully we’ve not used it all up now, we’ll need more if we help them drive these Tal Shiar out.” He said, taking off his gloves for a moment to properly stretch out his fingers before putting them back on again. The joints made it obvious what he was, plus it was annoying as anything to get dirt or sand in them, so he was definitely keeping the gloves on for the foreseeable future.

"We'll need to see if the others agree, too," Ev'kor pointed out. "If they've all had enough excitement for today, we need to figure something out. And someone needs to inform Starfleet and the Flotilla as soon as possible that there's been an infiltration, and Anga was a spy."

We can’t be split on something if there’s the potential the other group isn’t on board,” Kiadras offered to the group, “So…are we doing this? Or do we want to head back and let them handle it? Either way, I say we tell Starfleet and Flotilla immediately, be that in person or over comms.”
