"Bridge to Engineering, does anyone have any ideas on how to break through Borg Cube shields? The question is time-sensitive."

"Engineering to Bridge! I think I might have an idea... if we can pinpoint the frequencies the shields are using in one specific area, we can create an 'anti-shield' beamed to that area that might allow for communication to get through."

“Bridge to Engineering. Thanks for the heads up, we’ll get on it!”

"Twelve of Twenty to Engineering, we have been directed to propose for your consideration investigating the potential of getting shuttles through the Borg cubes shields through matching shield frequencies to facilitate retrieving the away team should the situation necessitate it." A pause. "We believe that is what is meant by...working up."

"Umali to Bridge. Just to clarify, matching shield frequencies would not allow solid objects to pass through shields because it distorts subspace to deflect solid matter. Doesn't work the same way it does for energy-based weapons. However! it is possible to modulate the shuttles shield frequencies to disrupt the Cube's shielding. I'll consult with our shield specialist here for their input."

"Lawson to engineering. I need an ETA on how long it'll be till you're ready to go, sooner the better ideally."

"Umali to bridge. Consulted engineering. We can get 3 shuttles ready to transport the away team within an hour. We're essentially going to setup an anti-shield to pass through and have the shields of the shuttles to randomly change frequencies so the Borg won't adapt to us. We're also going to transmit a signal via the shuttle's deflector dish that matches the Borg's shield transmission to hopefully cancel out any chance detectable by their sensors."

"Lawson to Engineering. Oh come now commander I know engineers pad their estimates. Get it done in half that time and I'll owe you all saurian brandy."

"No we don't! This stuff takes time!" they totally do.. well, she does at least. "Listen commander, we'll see what we can do here. So you better prepare a big cooler for all that brandy after this!"

"Lawson to Umali. A tractor beam would reveal our own position to the cube when we're trying to keep as low a profile as possible. We'll make sure to park under cloak outside the cubes weapons range then let the shuttle go in."
