Star Trek: Starbase 777 - medical-facility

She paused in the doorway, looking around to get her bearings of what was present here before deciding what to order.

Lorin was behind Hanna.

Elwyn moved up behind Stone, smoothie still in one hand and Type-2 phaser in the other.

The medical facility was at you expected it to be, only a little less Starfleet-y and a little more evil lair-y. There were biobeds, a surgical area, and other medical equipment laying about. To one side was a singular unarmed person who looked like a doctor, and over by the door to the left was two armed guards. There was also another door at the rear of the room.

[Comms] "Stone, your placement site is in a room at the back of the room currently in, by the looks of it. Do what you need to do to get there and place the explosive, and then I'll give you more instructions."

She hummed her agreement as she ran through a few scenarios in her head before looking to Ensign Preston behind her, “Shoot the guard to the left. Aim for the shoulder or arm. Not the torso as it appears most are wearing a shield. If your aim is not strong, aim for the legs. I will fire in tandem so hopefully they have no time to react. Ensign Redwood, keep your eyes on the doctor. We may need to ask them questions but don’t allow them to utilize any tools on themselves should they try to avoid capture. Be prepared that other guards could come out if they hear the noise. I will guard the main room once we have secured it if Ensign Preston is comfortable setting up the bomb in the other room.”

“Perfect.” She said.

”Sounds good to me!” Elwyn replied over comms via her brain connection thing, as she raised her phaser up to aim at the guard’s arm.

She did clarify to shoot on three before doing a breathy count from one to three, pulling her own trigger at the other guard’s shoulder.

On three Elwyn opened fire as well, shooting at the other guard.

Both shots hit and took the guards out. The doctor immediately stood up in shock before slowly raising their hands above their head when they saw what was happening.

She smiled at the doctor before entering the room, her eyes not wavering for a second, “Good choice. Ensign, do you mind ensuring our friend here doesn’t make any bad choices and restrain them?” Once they were working on the doctor, Hanna made her way to the two guards, restraining them and tagging them each before pulling them onto biobeds for the time being, even adding an additional restraint should they awaken between now and the time they would be transported.

Lorin went over to the doctor and helped restrain them.

“Okay, cover me and I’ll go and place the explosive.” Elwyn said before taking another sippy sip of her smoothie as she walked through the medical facility and towards the back room. She entered, checking around with her Type-2, before looking for a suitable place to put the explosive.

[Comms] “There’s still that place the guards were, well, guarding. There is an octagonal corridor you’ll have to walk all the way around once Preston has placed the explosive. I don’t know if they have any security systems in place.*

The doctor cooperated with Lorin, not wanting to put up a fight. There was a locked door between the medical facility and the other corridor Dagis just mentioned. They’d need another security pass from one of the guards.

She took it upon herself to get the guard’s pass, her eyes wandering over the room before ensuring everyone was ready to pass through. “You two, take the right and go through together. I will take the left. Do not hesitate to stun them and remember to restrain and tag anyone you bypass.”

[Comms] “You’re entering a corridor first, and then another room. There isn’t anyone in the corridor, but there is in the room. I’d tread carefully in case there are defence systems.”

Elwyn, having returned from the storage room and having placed the explosive, took the final sippy sip of her smoothie (no mo smoothie) and put her cup down on a desk, before putting her Type-2 back in her holster and bringing her rifle out from behind her back once more. “Ready when you are!” She said as she aimed her rifle at the door leading to the other corridor.

She held up a hand to pause the other two as she asked for clarification, “The hexagonal corridor goes around the room, correct? Is there any benefit of checking over both sides of this or simply moving as one?”

Lorin stood by Elwyn.

[Comms] “It’d be better to move as one.”

She nodded before looking to the two ensigns before “Left or right?”

“Right! I like right!” Elwyn said with a cheerful smile.

“I will go where you order me to go.” She said.

She took a few breaths before opening the door and heading to the right, her phaser still in hand as she kept her feet as quiet as she could.

The door lead to the corridor surrounding a #technology-lab.

Elwyn followed Hanna, her rifle raised.

She stepped up to the door.

Elwyn lead the scientists and guard to the medical facility. “Alright, everyone go get comfy! We’ll be beaming you out soon.” She said cheerfully with a friendly smile.

They all cooperated and went to sit in various places.

Lorin smiled at Elwyn.

Entering the medical facility as she took note of where everyone was seated, doing a small perimeter walk and discretely moving any tools or potential weapons out of reach of even the restrained individuals as well as checking on the two unconscious guards. “Anyone feel like a replicated coffee while we have a little chat.”

“I’ll take one.” Came the voice of the doctor previously tied up a short while ago. “Been on duty for twelve god forsaken hours.”

“Aww, that’s not very nice of them to make you work for so long!” Elwyn replied with a frown.

“Work-life balance is important.” She stated. She didn’t follow her own advice though.

She nodded as she moved to the replicator, setting down any medical blades that she had swiped from counters and bedsides earlier beside it. “How do you take your coffee?” Not stopping any of the natural conversation that came from the ensigns in the hope it would make them more willing to talk overall.

“Black. The blackest of black.” The doctor replied. “I know it’s not good for me, for Lord knows I need it working in this hellhole. I’ve done four twelve-hour shifts back-to-back.”

“While you’re over there, please get me a black coffee as well.” She asked pleasantly.

She got the three of them coffee before bringing them over and personally handing it to them. “What even were you working on? Locking you away like that for so long, it must be something that has to have continuous work on it.” She said it in a calculated relaxed tone, shaking her head slightly when she mentioned ‘locking you away’ to emphasize this as a negative.

“Thank you.” She said.

“Oh I’m just a doctor, but they were working on something to do with Trilithium. I was here in case they got hurt.” The doctor replied as they took their coffee, gesturing to the scientists as they spoke. One of the scientists nodded. “We’ve been working non-stop trying put Trilithium into safe portable devices. It’s been a bit hit and miss.”

She blinked as she appeared to be truly interested, leaning forward slightly, “To what end were these going to be used for? Did you have any that were successful and moved to a different location?”

“Bombs, I’d assume. A few successful prototypes were transported out a few weeks ago, but I don’t know where to.” The scientist responded in an honest tone. “I’d tell you if I could, really, but we don’t get told anything. We just do our jobs. All I know is the Section want portable bombs that were safe to transport and could be remotely detonated and wipe out entire cities, so we were trying to make those. Not that we want to, o-obviously!”

Elwyn covered her mouth in shock at what the scientist said they were making and what Section 31 wanted to be made. “That’s horrifying!” She accidentally thought-said over her communications brain link thing.

She refrained from any visceral reaction that was an extreme negative, just a small frown before reaching out and patting their hand softly, “I’m sorry to hear that. Did you place anything on these bombs that could revert them from being activated either before or after they are primed?”

“Oh yeah, the Section aren’t stupid. They all have to be manually primed, and can be completely terminated if needed. Once they’re activated though… We weren’t told to include anything to deactivate them.” The scientist said with a sheepish and disappointed look on their face.

“Even if you weren’t told to include anything, is there anything?”

“Not that we know of, no.” The scientist stated and shook their head. Some of the other scientists also shook their heads.

She nodded her head as she sipped her coffee as she watched them, “Would you be able to locate and dismantle them if they were not primed?”

"Umm, I suppose they could show up if you did some sort of scan for them, and most scientists experienced with this sort of weaponry could probably dismantle them." The scientist replied thoughtfully.

She seemed to take in these answers before taking another sip of coffee before her eyes moved over the other ensigns, checking that they were okay. “Then I suppose it would be helpful for us to locate the weapons as quickly as we can.”

Elwyn nodded in response, wishing she had more smoothie as of right now. "The sooner the better."

Lorin nodded, wishing she had a smoothie at all. “Yes, it would be.”

[Comms] "Okay, group one, if you've tagged everyone there for transport I'd advise moving away from that Trilithium lab and moving back towards the #unmarked-room-three. There are no guards in your way right now, and it'd be better to be there than be near that lab."

“We should get going, then. I for one don’t like being around all the weaponry.” She said, before focusing her attention on the comms. “ How is Team One doing- any contact with them?”

She nodded her head before looking to the guard, “You all will be transported out shortly. For now, drink your coffee and rest up.” Standing up straight before finishing her coffee and walking over to the doorway, “Let’s head out.”

Elwyn nodded in response and followed the Commander, her rifle raised once more.

[Comms] "Okay, back out into #lower-right-corridors, take a right, another right, and go straight ahead to #unmarked-room-three."
