Star Trek: Starbase 777 - unmarked-room-three

She nodded as she moved to the entrance door to the left, checking her weapon before holding up three fingers to her team and counting them down.

Elias watched her intently, slowly raising their phaser in case they needed to use it. They felt themselves tense up in anticipation like they did every time they entered a room.

Elwyn stood by with her rifle raised, while making sure no one snuck up behind them either.

The door, just like most, seemed quite sturdy. However, this one wasn't locked, which suggested whatever was behind the door wasn't important.

[Comms] "Group two, I'm detecting four people in here, all bunched together. Could be armed or unarmed." (edited)

She nodded before pointing to the medical officer, “Hang back a little bit in case we need to fire our phasers. We’ll need you as support. Ensign, I’ll take the two towards the left of the room, the one on the right are yours. Fire if needed but ensure you’re on stun.”

They nodded determinedly, melting back into the shadows a bit with their medkit clutched tightly in one hand and the phaser in the other. They barely breathed, nervous.

Elwyn nodded in response. "Don't be afraid to shoot them before they shoot us." She added.

She smiled before opening the door and scanning the room quickly, both at the individuals and what was around them, “Two seconds to get your hands in the air before you take a forceful nap.” Her eyes locking onto the individuals she had designated for herself but still being mindful should the two that were more to the right of the room lift any weapons or act threateningly.

Listening as they entered the room, Elias stayed in the doorway, slightly behind it, impressed as they observed the team as they did their thing.

Elwyn pointed her rifle into the room as well, prepared to shoot if needed.

As soon as the doors opened it revealed a recreational facility, and four guards sitting at a table playing poker. They all looked over, before immediately drawing their weapons and opening fire at the Starfleet officers.

She was quick to fire back, using the edge of the door as a physical shield, aiming for the two she had selected first, hoping that she hadn’t gotten rusty as she hadn’t had time for a range session for the last two days prior to this mission.

They raised their phaser, aiming for one of the guards and firing. They huddled around the corner of the door frame while they shot, hoping that the fact that they hadn't entered with the team might give them a bit of help from the element of surprise.

Elwyn fired back as well, taking cover behind the doorway as best as possible.

The slowest and presumably oldest of the four guards got stunned quite easily by Elias' second shot. The other guards split off and took cover behind various other furniture, including a bar.

She observed the immediate area in front of her before firing a shot at anyone who peeked around their barriers.

Elias grimaced as they watched the guard fall, and aimed for another one, cursing as they took cover and were no longer visible. They wished they had some kind of medical equipment that would be useful in this situation, but they couldn't think of anything. All they did was keep firing at the things the guards were hiding behind.

The android kept firing, hoping to snipe some people out from their hiding spots.

Hanna's shot hit another guard, but they only got pushed back by it. Were they wearing some sort of stun-proof vest? Elwyn shot just barely missed the head of a guard peeking up behind the bar.

She noticed that her shot didn’t do much before gritting her teeth and looking at the other two, “Provide cover. I’m going to try to get closer.” If they both agreed, she would wait for them to get into position and shoot before ducking forward and using the nearest large piece of furniture to get cover before making her way towards those hiding behind the bar, attempting to come up the side of it before peeking the edge of her head and muzzle of her phaser around it, aiming for their limbs as opposed to their core in case they were wearing some sort of vest. She even upped the frequency a bit, but still staying safely in the stun area.

"Aye, sir." Elias shouted, running to the other side of the doorway and firing continuously, keeping a keen eye put for stray limbs or heads. They also looked for any electrical equipment they could shoot at. If they found any, they could try straight up blowing it up, hopefully distracting the guards or scaring them into the open.

Elwyn nodded in response, before switching her rifle to automatic and firing rapidly into the room to provide hopefully at least some cover for the Commander.

The Commander managed to get into cover behind a couch safely. All of her shots missed unfortunately, but one did get very close to hitting a guard in the foot.

Her jaw was clenched as she reassessed, making a motion to hold fire for a second to see if any guards would be dumb enough to stick their whole head and shoulders up to check.

Elwyn stopped firing and dipped behind cover.

Following their lead, Elias stopped firing and ducked down.

She waited, hoping to get a better sense of where each of the guards were and how many were there. Her eyes looked to the two in the doorway before scanning the room, looking for other areas that could be fired upon, like if they had any replicators, arcade machines, or non life supporting equipment that could be exploded with minimal consequences. She also took the time to breath deeply, knowing that the tension in her body would be returning the moment she fired the next shot, but not wanting to get narrow minded. She took a breath before she would fire at where at least one shot would come from - even if it was from their last shot before they realized the cease fire.

There was a replicator on a wall next to the bar, and a fruit machine at the rear of the room. Her latest shot once again missed, but after that shot one of the guards stood up from behind the bar as they couldn't see what was going on or where any of the intruders had gone.

She would aim for that guard, hoping to shoot him in the arm or shoulder as she didn’t want to risk hitting their head and causing permanent damage, but also looking for an outline of a vest under their uniform for confirmation.

Seeing that Hanna was taking care of the officer, Elias aimed for the replicator, hoping to scare the remaining 2(?) guards out into the open so to where the other two officers could shoot them. They fired, hoping it would be a jarring enough explosion that the guards woukd be caught off guard.

Hanna's shot managed to hit the guard in the arm which did, in fact, stun them, sending them to the ground. Elias' shot blew up the replicator, which made one of the two final guards make an 'eek' sound, but they didn't come out of cover. (edited)

"Damn it. Should we just converge on the last two?" They spoke into the earpiece. (edited)

She nodded her head, eyes focusing on where the noise came from and levelling her phaser as she gestured with one hand for the two to enter the room. Her breathing steady as she mentally counted. “There is two more so keep your guard up as we converge. Lieutenant, hang back and watch the Ensign’s back should they make a reappearance.”

"Understood." They crept farther into the room, but kept low and pressed against the wall, keeping an eye on the ensign.

"Copy that." Elwyn said without actually speaking, using her mental uplink to her benefit as she entered the room with her rifle raised.

"What are you? Starfleet? More like Pussyfleet!" One of the guards called out from behind an unknown piece of furniture with a laugh. How mature. (edited)

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she looked at the other two and shook her head in attempt to stop them from retaliating, knowing that if they were throwing verbal insults that were that poorly thought of, they were most likely a hair away from pissing themselves with fear. She remained silent as she got up, staying low to the ground and behind cover but slowly approached where the voice was, keeping in mind where the ‘eep’ had come from earlier if it was the same voice or not as it would give away the other location.

Elias rolled their eyes and stuck out their tongue jokingly in the direction the voice had come from. Yeah, whatever. Says the Section 31 agent. They couldn't help but scoff in amusement at the half-hearted insult. Anyway, back to the mission! They shifted to look back at Elwyn.

"That's mean." Elwyn said over comms via her own thoughts again. She stayed next to Stone to provide cover, scanning the room with her rifle.

As Hanna approached the location of the failed insult the guard spoke again. "Got your weapons on stun? That's sigma behaviour!" What was this guy, a Twitter troll? "Section agents are all alpha!" Yep, he used space Twitter.

Elias raised their phaser, looking around to make sure these really were the last guards. They scoffed inwardly and gripped the phaser.

[Comms] The static that was there on the commline before disappeared. "Team two, comms check, how do you read me?" (edited)

She stepped around the barrier with her phaser pointed at their head, her other hand reaching for their weapon and directing the muzzle to the ground before smirking as she commented, “Oh how the mighty alpha has fallen. Don’t you know not to get your ass handed to you by a girl?”

Elias sighed in relief at the Lieutenant's voice, glad that they were connected to the ship again. "We read you. Ohhh damnn..." They added as they listened to Hanna.

Elwyn made it around to the other side to keep Stone safe, her rifle pointed at the guard. "How about two?" She said with a cheeky grin.

The guard looked up only to see Hanna's phaser right next to his head, at which point he dropped his weapon. "Y-you're not just sigma! You're a female!" He exclaimed, before looking at Elwyn. "Two females! How dare you act as if you're superior to an alpha male! How dare you!" The other guard was still hiding somewhere. (edited)

She sighed as she leaned into his space slightly, lowering her weapon as she saw that the ensign had things sorted, pulling out some zip ties and containing the guard before commenting, “Awww. To think I needed a strong alpha type and all we run into is some Beta pretending.” Tsking softly as she pushed him down to sit on the ground and look down at him, “Shame really.”

Jokes on him, there's a nonbinary bitch here ready to fuck shit up. They scowled at the insults directed at their team. Not now. They turned quietly, looking for any sign of the last guard.

As soon as Hanna restrained the guard Elwyn placed a transporter tag on him and raised her rifle once more, now wanting to find the final guard. "We know you're here! If you come out with your hands where we can see them and cooperate it'll be in your best interests!"

"Y-you're all inferior! You hear me?! All of you! Alpha males run this galaxy!" Said the deranged guard who clearly needed therapy. Despite Elwyn's best efforts the other guard was still hidden away behind some piece of furniture somewhere.

Elias crept back, trying to keep the illusion that Hanna and Elwyn were the only Starfleet officers in the room. They felt their back slide against the cool wall as they moved, before stopping behind the closest peice of cover, straining to hear or see the last guard.

Funnily enough thanks to Elias' sneaking they soon came across a curled up guard hiding behind a chair, who hadn't even noticed them.

They barely breathed, tense as hell, before raising their phaser as well as their last hypo filled with sedative (in case the phaser didn't work) and they fired. They hadn't quite expected to get this far, but here they were!

Having enough of this guard badmouthing them, she pulled a piece of duct tape out of one of her pockets before wrapping it around the guard’s head once. “Lieutenant Dagis, do we have the resources on board to fix a tongue?” Her eyes moving to the lieutenant before back to the smoothie machine as she sighed, “Also would anyone else like a smoothie before we catch up to team one?”

Elwyn immediately looked over as they heard someone fire, only to see Elias looking down behind a chair. She very quickly rushed over.

Elias' shot worked and the guard was out cold.

[Comms] "We can, but not for the reasons you or I want."

Elias let out a long breath and tucked away the hypo, tying up the guard and tagging him. Now that they were getting more accustomed to stunning people, they actually grinned triumphantly, and couldn't help but feel a bit proud. "I think the room's clear now."

Frowning down at the guard before hooking them up to the bar counter with the zip ties since they were still conscious, she moved towards the other two, “All four are secure and tagged. Where is the rest of our team located?” She gave a smile to the both of them before offering a small smoothie that she had found on one of the counters, “Anyone want a sip? I think it’s berry flavoured.”

"I do! Plus I can't get poisoned!" Elwyn said as she went over to take a sip of the drink.

"Hell yeah, as long as it's not laced with cyanide. Can't have shit in a Section 31 base without checking it to make sure it won't kill you first."

[Comms] "The other team are back in the hallway. Head directly out of the room you're in and take the right at the y-junction. You'll find them there."

Elwyn took the drink and gave it a big ol' sippy sip, her eyes lighting up. "Oooh, berries! And no poison!"

"Thanks to the both of you. Cheers." They took a big sip and smiled at the yummy flavor. "Mmm. That's good!"

Smiling as she poured the cup into three and offered each a straw before looking around once that each guard had been tagged and restrained, even if unconscious, then walking back to the hall. “Lieutenant, mark my petition to have a smoothie machine placed in the tactical hub for the Eventide. It supports team moral.”

[Comms] "Pretty sure the bars have smoothie makers on the promenade. You could arrange smoothie nights."

Elias giggled and gratefully accepted the cup. "We definitely should. They certainly do boost morale."

Elwyn took her cup with a smile and took another big sippy sip. "Come on, we should meet up with the others!" She said as she headed out into #lower-right-corridors.

Elias smiled and followed, re-energized.

She walked in, her eyes scanning the room initially before relaxing slightly if she didn’t see anything of note.

Elwyn followed the Commander into the room they originally got the smoothies in, her rifle raised in case anyone was hiding and waiting to attack them. Once it was safe she lowered her rifle.

She walked in, looking around.

"Anyone want another smoothie?" She asked cheerfully.

“I would enjoy that.” She said, looking over to Elwyn.

"Yay! Let's get some!" She said with a grin before going over to the smoothie maker near the bar. "What flavour do you want?"

“Strawberry banana, please.” She replied.

She was amused by the two as she leaned against a wall that gave her full view of the room and entryways.

"Okay!" Elwyn replied cheerfully before getting the machine to create a strawberry and banana smoothie. Once completed she handed it to Lorin. "Here you go! I think I'll have melon and grape!" She said, before turning to get herself a smoothie as well.

She took the smoothie from Elwyn and took a sip. It was good, she decided. “Elwyn? How are you holding up with the mission and everything?” She asked.

She listened in, curious to see how they were, but knowing she might just get what they think she wants to hear if she herself asked it. Thankfully they didn’t seem to mind her presence in the room.

"I'm doing fine! I feel sad about everyone having to work for the Section, but I'm fine apart from that! How about you?" She asked with a friendly smile before taking a big sippy sip of her smoothie.

“May I order..?” she modestly said. “And do we need to check that it’s not producing any toxic elements?”

"It's not toxic, I can tell if something is!" Elwyn explained with a smile. "What would you like to order?" She asked, now putting on a fancy bartender voice.

“I’m doing fine, thanks to whatever Elias gave me. I hope that the people we have tagged and will beam out of this place will choose a better path in life going forward.” She stated. It would be weird running into the guy she neck pinched, though.

“I’ll have… some orange juice.” she tilted her head, awkwardly smiling.

She continued to watch the group before softly speaking to the lieutenant, “Ensigns are present and accounted for in the room you designated. Let me know if there’s anything else we can do.”

"Sure thing!" Elwyn replied with a smile, before making an orange juice-like smoothie and handing it to Jayrehi.

[Comms] "Copy that. I'm going to get the other half of your team to come down to you. Stay put."

She nodded as she continued to stand at some level of attention, her gaze constantly checking that they were still safe.

She did a mini-bow, before quickly taking and sipping the smoothie.

[Comms] "Okay. New plan. Head straight out of that room and take the left at the y-junction. Continue straight into the very large room. You should come across Team One."

“We should get going then. Right?” She said to Hanna.

Elias walked in, sipping a smoothie. "Ah. Thank God you're all still alive. Alas, we've returned!" They looked quite chill actually, more relaxed, with a mango banana smoothie in their right hand. Pretty cool.

Elwyn looked over at Elias and the others with a smile, sippy sipping on her smoothie as well. "Hi! How'd you get smoothies? Was there another smoothie machine? I love smoothies!" She said happily.

[Comms] "You all together? Good. You'll be meeting up with Team One. Head out the door once you're ready and go straight until you hit the y-junction. Turn left and then carry on straight. You should come across the other team soon after. I don't know if there are any doors in-between you and them, though."

Elias smiled back at Elwyn and gave her a little wave. "Aye, sir. Yeah! We found another smoothie machine in some barracks."

She finished the last of her smoothie and got ready to leave the area.

"That's so cool! This place has the best smoothie machines! Too bad we have to blow it all up! Hey, I don't condone stealing, but if anyone wants to grab a souvenir from this room while we're here I don't think anyone would mind." Elwyn replied with a chuckle.

The room they were in was a club of sorts. There was a poker table, a fruit machine, and a bar, with various associated items laying about the place.

"Kinda wanna get myself a Section 31 commbadge..." They said thoughtfully, looking around and grabbing a few poker chips and looking for any shiny things or anything made of stone. (Specific, but they liked that kind of stuff.) They hoped that somewhere there was a shot glass with "Section 31" on it.

She also looked for shiny Section 31 trinkets.

Elias grinned as an idea came to mind. They walked over to the nearest replicator, if there was one, and leaned against it. "Computer, 21st century Earth shot glass, the words "Section 31" with a small black combadge symbol."

She had started to head out the door as directed.

[Comms] "You're not taking a commbadge. They're evidence."

There was nothing made of stone. The replicator provided the shot glass when requested.

Elwyn went and took a poker chip from the table and pocketed it, before following Hanna to the door, still sippy sipping her smoothie.

Elias smothered a giggle. "Yes, sir." They pocketed the glass (damn this is gonna make me look suspicious later) and the chips, and followed, drinking the smoothie.

Still dragging the huge pillowcase full of stuff around, he just got to the room when he saw that they were already leaving and groaned.

She paused at the door after hearing the Lieutenant in her ear before looking over her crew, “Drop whatever item you have taken from this base. We are starfleet, we do not take trophies for the missions we complete.” Her eyes narrowed at each individual.

She had already taken a poker chip and put it in her pocket. She took it out and put it back. She’d replicate one later. Along with a Section 31 shot glass for herself.

[Comms] "I said to not take a commbadge. I couldn't care less if they took a poker chip or something to remember the day they helped blow up a Section 31 base. What doesn't get taken will be blown up."

She grit her teeth as she personally disagreed with this, but she didn’t say anything more as she opted to complete what was directed, walking to the hallway.

The young android shrugged and followed the Commander into the corridor, Type-2 raised and smoothie in her other hand.

She took the poker chip back. [COMMS] “Thank you.” She followed the Commander into the corridor.

Elias paused, feeling a bit awkward, and decided to not suggest taking anymore commbadges. They followed into the corridor.
