Star Trek: Starbase 777 - bf-sleeping-quarters

(TW: Dead bodies) Littering the sleeping quarters were the bodies of three humans, who appear to have been more or less torn apart by something’s bare hands. Blood was streaked across the room, staining the walls and sheets. What in the world was happening in this facility?

Was sadly there before anyone could warn him "aaaah!!" He covered his eyes and ran back outside.

Holly released a quiet breath at the sight of the bodies. Ouch. "Come on, Vokk, it's alright." She took him by the arm to guide him across the room.

"Do we see any bodies, or is it just-" William was about to ask when the group stumbled across the corpses in the sleeping quarters. That answered his question for him. He let out a gentle, "Ah, fuck..." upon seeing them, but was content to let the rest of the group do the actual investigating.

Dakom was rolling up his sleeves. Metaphorically. The metaphorical ones, as he was still very much in an EV suit. "Alright." He glanced back at the departing Ensign before approaching the nearest body, hoping to get a better look at what had befouled them, before they shared in their fate.

There was a clattering in the bathroom.

Stood near the door, trying to calm himself back down, the academy trains you for much but that's a first of a first.

Her brow furrowed in concern, but any impulse she did have was constrained. She continued to scan the surroundings, especially after she heard that clattering.

Vara'l moved swiftly into the room, glanced to the bodies and looked to the medical officer. Seeing that was addressed, he moved to speak before he heard the clattering. "Someone scan the bathroom area." He directed as he moved to take position to cover the bathroom and signalled to whoever was nearest and happened to have a rifle as he requested back up to check the bathroom with.

Timi pushed his way to the front, rifle raised and steadied against his shoulder. He faced the bathroom door, putting himself between the noise and the group so the doctors could investigate safely, knowing there was a barrier there to protect them. Bodies did not faze him, so he needed to do what he could.

She had been about to look at the bodies closer when she heard the noise. Her rifle was pointed. She chose not to announce their presence though, since everyone seemed keen on scanning stuff today.

Paco took one look in the room. Took a deep breath. " oh_no

" Paco muttered. "Nuh Uh. Nope. Whatever did this was also outside..... That thing can somehow freely access the inside and outside." then Paco heard the clattering in the bathroom. " " *he said before nodding to orders and quietly stepping forward to scan the bathroom. What was he doing? He wasn't sure.

Fives made a strangled little noise in the back of their throat, lingering as far from the corpses as the room would allow. Were they old/seem visibly rotting, or relatively fresh?

He approached another body, hoping to determine their time of death. Recent? Old? He seemed less bothered by this than the red lights.

She repositioned herself behind the two Lt. Cdr's, continuing her scan as she reached out her tricorder towards the bathroom's general direction for a more concentrated scan.

The corpses were fresh. There was a human lifesign in the bathroom.

"One lifesign. Human." She spoke.

"A survivor?" William replied, looking towards the bathroom.

Vara'l angled closer to the bathroom and called. "Federation Starfleet, make yourself known." As he raised his phaser rifle.

One hand securely holding her weapon, the other on Vokk's shoulder, Holly was trying her best to get the ensign to not run off into the unknown. "You can't go running off, okay? Come on, stay with the group," she urged him gently, listening to the reports as she did so.

Vesta was somewhat more accustomed to gore than the average Starfleet officer, but that didn’t make it any more pleasant. She shuffled away from them, relieved that the thing in the bathroom was human, but not put completely at ease. (edited)

The bathroom door slowly creaked open, revealing a human clad in a white jumpsuit found in airtight engineering labs. It was stained with blood, and the young man appeared scared out of his mind. He held a plunger like a weapon. “…S-Starfleet?”

Dakom greatly appreciated being allowed to work in... relative peace, and proceeded to scan the corpse he was looking at for a better understanding of this damage. "Recently deceased," he noted aloud as he did so. Sorry Vokk, you're going to have to hear about the corpses.

He looked at the security officer and nodded "Sorry sir, just first time seeing anything like that" He let himself be herded but avoided looking at the corpses, man he really would need counceling.

Ehlai was, surprisingly, quite stone faced in the presence of bodies and blood. He simply looked at the man who came out of the bathroom. "Who are you?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head.

The Romulan raised a hand then. "Yes, Starfleet." He confirmed before he added. "Are you hurt?" The other watched, carefully, though he lowered his rifle slightly.

"Yes starfleet. We're here to help you... please put down the plunger..."* Paco said calmly, very much relieved it was a normal person in there and not whatever was out to get them.* "You can come out..."

Her breath hitched at the sight, but she stilled her face, stepping back towards the others.

"I understand," Holly assured Vokk before she went back to her duties, positioning herself near Vara'l by the bathroom. It seemed there were civilians to be liaisoned after all.

Had one look at the man... and somehow it was like all the noise stopped, oh he was scared like him, he would help.

Timi relaxed slightly, but did not lower his rifle. All of these fucking questions, let the guy answers some of them before he'd lose track entirely.

She watched the human peaking out from the door, and said nothing. It was probably overwhelming to see so many people and hear quite a number of voices, so she merely continued her scans, trying to keep her situational awareness up.

She exhaled through her nose, fully taking in the situation ahead. Three dismembered people, one living one at least. “Sir. We’re here to help.”

“…Jesus fuck, okay…” He took in a slow breath and dropped his plunger. Wouldn’t have been an effective weapon anyway, “I think there’s more of us in the canteen. I came back with those three to get some supplies, but uh…” He gestured, before looking to the away team, “I can lead y’all there?”

Taking a deep breath, they took in the view and steeled themself, knowing that panicking over corpses wasn’t going to make anything better.

“Please. Could we get your name, sir?” She asked, palms up in something of a surrender.

"We should probably get the other survivors yes" He kept looking at anywhere but the corpses, but mainly he kept his ears active.

Seeing as him talking alongside the others would make things worse, Paco decided to leave talking to the plunger man to the others and stepped away to join Vokk "Not yet... Best not separate from the group just yet... Are you alright, Ensign?"

“I’m Lieutenant Daso. Nice to meet you, sir.” She said to the man, trying to get a name out of him after he didn’t answer Suun.

“Silas,” The man replied, stepping out of the bathroom. Indeed, he wore a suit expected of a man working in an engineering lab like this, one designed to keep everything out, including the blood streaked across it, “You uh- You sure you’re Starfleet?”

William just did his best to stay out of the way for now, though remained in a position to be called upon if needed. For now, he was content to watch the exchange without adding more confusion by speaking as well.

"Yes lieutenant, sorry, just they try to train you to keep an even head but SFA doesn't exactly run gore readiness." Still he did seem calmer now, if trembling a bit from shock.

Sak noticed Vokk's distaste of violence and gore and whatnot. He went towards Paco and Vokk. "Hey, we should take a scan of this room, better safe than sorry."

“We’re sure. You an engineer?” they asked, looking at his outfit

“Uh- Yeah, yeah I am…” He gave a little nod. It was clear he was antsy, though whether that was from Starfleet being here or the situation at hand was unclear.

Vara'l nodded simply then at the survivors question. He was contented to let others speak now and just checked to ensure someone still had the man covered before he moved to cover one of the ways into the main room of the sleep quarters.

Despite their demeanor outside of missions, they were always good with resolving conflict. “Nice! I’m an engineer!” the first step to conflict resolution is finding common ground to see eye to eye.

Looked at Sak yeah good idea that was something he was good at, he pulled out his tricorder once more, atleast now they were close enough to get bioscans from the facility and maybe also ambient ones.

He'd become well-acquainted with cadavers in medical school, as had Dakom. They didn't usually look like they'd been put in a blender, though. He decided to let the people with more charisma than him (everyone) talk to the plunger man; he would speak only if he had something necessary to say, or if there were any slightly less dead shredded people to help.

“Yeah, I hear y’all have a fair handful of engineers…” He said, trailing off before clearing his throat, “Anyway, uh- There’s some more folks in the canteen, if y’all wanna lend a hand?” He raised an eyebrow, “That’s what y’all’re here for, right? Heard a distress signal?”

“It’s nice to meet you, Silas.” She nodded, “We’ll do our best. This wasn’t our intended reason for being here, but we can help nonetheless.”

Knowing that her crewmates had an eye on the situation, she kept eye contact with silas, keeping calm.

Silas’s gaze lingered on Suun for a moment, “…so, no distress call?”

Blegh was here, she'd been here the whole time. Don't worry about it. "We'll see what we can do," she nodded to the poor engineer, hoping that was enough assurance for the man.

“Not that I’m aware of. We were here under suspicions of something else.” She told him, “But if you need badge numbers, or other proof, we can provide.”

“No sir, no distress call. We heard that a group had gone missing and we came to check it out.”

"I may be talking off my lobes, but in these situations securing the civilians is priority 1 no?" Atleast he could always rely on being the uhm achtually emoji.

She looked at him and whispered “yeah no shit what do you think im doing”

"I meant the other ones sir, those things are still about."

Silas’s eyes flicked down to the ground. No distress call…his face paled slightly before he steeled himself, “…alright, well, if y’all’re gonna be…securin’ civilians and such, then…come on. And keep those guns of yours ready. Don’t know how many there are out there now…”

“My name is Suun.” She nodded, “We’ll follow where you lead. Our guns will be away.”

“We will be right with you. We will protect you.” she said, calmly.

Silas moved toward the #bf-central-corridor

Blegh followed, her hand resting on the holster of her service weapon as Silas had suggested, if only to provide the man with some assurance of safety.

"Make it so, ensign." Paco answered Sak with a nod before he turned back to Vokk. "No amount of training really does. We just learn to cope with the punches as they happen and recover afterwards." He said calmly as he patted Vokk's shoulder before joining the others back in the central corridor
