The Town / first-haven

Somehow, a fogless room got sealed in the Town when the station rang it's yellow alert and cut off the contaminated areas. Of course, entering it made some of the fog seep in, but the amount of clean air still managed to clear out the illusion out of their head. Unfortunately, this haven was useful for limited time. Better make it count.

"This is better," Tal said, stating the obvious. He couldn't see, of course, but felt like a weight had lifted, the clamminess of the mist leaving him, the unpleasant taste in his mouth receding. "We will probably need to enter the mist again, to retrieve whatever this source of the fog is. We should make preparations in the meantime."

“A welcome reprieve,” K’tehka said. He ignored the other man’s comment about anger. It was his belief that anger could be very productive! But maybe not in this specific situation. He resolved himself to keep his wits about him and his eyes open. “Of course.” And then the Klingon walked in, surveying the room. Where were they and what resources did Starfleet have available for…distribution?

A turbolift. The fog starting to seep in was making some parts flicker in and out of perception; making the lights blink and the pristine walls look more rusted and broken, but undoubtedly a turbolift.

"Ach, there is a turbolift over there," he said unhelpfully before remembering to be more descriptive. "A few meters ahead. I will guide us to it." And he began walking forward, booted footsteps echoing in the room.

Tal followed after K'tehka easily. "Let's see if we can use the computer to call for help, and if we can go somewhere that is not covered in fog." Keeping someone updated on what they'd found out with regards to the fog wouldn't go amiss. It then occurred to Tal to ask. "Are you with Starfleet? I'm aware we had officers with us, ranks were used before. I just don't know-" who was who, and who was and wasn't an officer. He could learn, if he allowed himself into another's mind the way he knew he could, but he'd researched before he moved, and he couldn't do that here.

"Of course," K'tehka said with an affirmative grunt. "I am a civilian aboard this vessel. I moved here a short few months ago and already there has been one takeover of the Starbase and now some hallucinogenic fog...I did not expect such activity!" He laughed, almost bitter but mostly mirthful and felt on the wall for a COMMS button. "Ah, here we go!" He pressed the emergency button in the Turbolift and spoke into the COMMS. "K'tehka son of Th'omon to any Starfleet Officer. I am a Civilian and I am located in..." He paused for a moment, looking around for numbers or designations and yes! "Turbolift 2 with another civilian named Galankir." Keep it simple for now, give the Starfleet Officers the information if they answer. Yeah, that would be fine.

K'tehka spoke back and forth with the Engineering department a few times, and when the final direction to remain in the turbolift came through he gave an affirmative and sighed, looking at the other man with raised brows. "Well, it seems Starfleet wants us to remain here." He crossed his arms. "It could be prudent, but I was never one for hiding." His eyes did not leave the other man, trying to decipher how he was feeling rather than ask. "What do you think?"

The fog was vented out, safely lifting off of the affected decks. There would still be some time before those hallucinating recovered their full mental bandwidth, but they were safe at last.
