The Town / second-haven
Avatar
Narrator BOT 23-Nov-24 10:42 PM
Somehow, a fogless room got sealed in the Town when the station rang it's yellow alert and cut off the contaminated areas. Of course, entering it made some of the fog seep in, but the amount of clean air still managed to clear out the illusion out of their head. Unfortunately, this haven, which revealed itself to be a computer lab, was useful for limited time. Better make it count.

"A computer lab!" Paco said with relief as he finally emerged from the Jeffery's tube and approached one of the consoles. "I'll try to see if they still work. Maybe we can use them to talk to someone outside the sealed off areas... or atleast figure out where we should be going." Paco said as he went on to attempting to turn one of the consoles on. "Our tricorders and commbadges don't work while we're here... so maybe this is the only chance we got tech-wise..."

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth | SCI BOT 23-Nov-24 10:58 PM
"There's no fog here... maybe we can try again?" He suggested as soon as he crawled out of the very uneventful jeffrey's tube. Pros: no scary situations proceeded to happen in there. Cons: no sexy men with giant knives proceeded to chase him in there... (edited)

Maggie hummed as she moved into the room and sighed. “Let’s check!” Maggie said as she turned on comms. [Comms] “This is Roode to anyone! Help us! Help!”

Stepping into the computer lab felt as though she was no longer buried in sand, like some sort of pressure was lifted. It was terrifying as well, because only now, that the feeling had mostly disappeared, did she realize just how much it had actually affected her. "Perhaps Lieutenant, mention where we are and who is here." (edited)

"...I imagined being high to be more fun than this to be honest..." Paco said with a shrug, somewhat disappointed at what is probably his first high trip. "Anyway, now we know that those things are only as scary and powerful as we allow them to be! So we can totally get back and save the day!"

Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:09 PM
“Ugh, and I thought I left the shooms behind in the academy.” Maggie said with a huff.”So it’s like a, they can’t hurt us if we don’t believe in them thing?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:12 PM
"Sort of. I mean, we're all seeing the same thing. So since this is all psychological, if they scare us and make us hide and stuff, that means the fog will have more time to harm more people. So they'll still be there, but we can just, ignore them." Paco explained with a shrug. "I grow mushrooms, are shrooms different?"
Avatar
Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:16 PM
“I mean like kinda? It’s not important! We gotta focus!” She said as she slapped her cheeks. “So I guess we can just go on a solid stroll?”

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:18 PM
"While those are hallucinations, let's still express caution when engaging with them, yeah?" he suggested, the Romulan overcautiousness as rampant as ever. "Let's also get directions before going back into the fog - just so that the illusion does not fuck up our sense of direction."
Avatar
Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:19 PM
"I guess." Paco answered with a finger gun in one hand and holding up Eyeo in the other arm. "Powerwalk back there with confidence and caution." He added before putting the jar down and looking up the directions on the console (edited)

Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:20 PM
“Wait so what is Eyeo? Is he a real thing that looks like a jar of eyeballs?” She said with a hum. “Eh, not important! Let’s go! I’m not going to die to a buncha fakes! I’ve got holes to dive into!”
Avatar
Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:21 PM
"I do agree, we have no definitiv way of being certain nothing is real unless we get in a situation that would be unwise to get into if anything we see is not entirely made up." She tilted her head at Saren. "Are you capable of finding the way back to the chemistry lab?"
Avatar
Narrator BOT 24-Nov-24 04:24 PM
Now that the illusion had cleared up for the time being, the eye jar should've disappeared... but instead, the Eyeo looked slightly different - in a more modern looking wet specimen jar, with a neat label written in Rihannsu.

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:24 PM
"... Oh, fuck, that's my jar actually," he piped up after a brief pause, looking at Paco. "I, ah-- forgot it in one of the labs, it seems. Thank you for finding it, I guess?.."

Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:25 PM
Maggie beamed. “Oh good! Look at us Paco, doing some good in the world.” She said with a smile.

Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:27 PM
"...oh..." Paco looked down to Eyeo, even more disappointed... dude, being on drugs sucks! "Actually that's a good thing, because if it didn't do anything, I would've just thrown it at the monster thing anyway... Now I sort of don't have to." Paco said as he still held the jar in his arms. He looked back at Maggie with a smile. "Yeah! Let's get goin! It's science time!"
16:33
"HOLY SHIT WE'RE GETTING A DRONE!" Paco excitedly announced, before he calmed down and cleared his throat.

Narrator BOT 24-Nov-24 04:42 PM
Vvvvvroooom.... Tap tap. The vent popped open (a bit more fog leaking inside, but it was already coming through the doors). Hovering between the ceiling and the group was a drone with a tricorder attached.

Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:44 PM
Maggie waved at the drone. “And now I think we can move forward with our merry bend. The illustrious and beautiful Maggie! The cool and calm Evoras! The Really Cool and Fun Paco! The Mega Cool and Not-Dead Saren! And the cool drone! In memory of our fallen friend Eyeo I hear by name you Drono!”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:51 PM
"Eyeo's not dead! They're right here. They're just "dead" because Saren said so. I still believe Eyeo can help us.... somehow??" Paco said as he waved to the drone. "I would've named it Dronito, like dorito, but drone..." Paco sai to himself after hearing the name Drono. He wasn't the best at naming things, but he wasn't gonna ruin Maggie's fun. "Anyway, we should get moving now." (edited)

Foghorn (name pending) wiggled near the door, as if to tell everyone to get a Move On.

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:52 PM
"Please leave the jar of eyes alone," he commented, exasperated, and followed the drone.

“Let’s go team Science & The Drono!” She said as she marched into the hallway. “Let’s go!”

Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:56 PM
"To the Chem Lab! Time to cook more drugs!" Paco declared as he marched to the hallway, bringing the Jar with him.
Avatar
Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 04:58 PM
"We will not be cooking any drugs, and if we were we would not loudly claim to do so, Lieutenant." She followed the others back out of the computer lab.

In in in in in go. Triage time. Karavix was no good at triage-ing, but she would help wherever she could.

Lt. T'She | MED BOT 24-Nov-24 09:13 PM
T'She is there now!! And they knew a good bit about Triage due to their job. Quickly, they decided that Saren and Maggie were the ones that needed the most assistance, and in that order too. Thankfully, there were two medical officers there (including themselves), as well as others who probably knew first aid. "Could someone please patch up the other patient while I work here?" They asked as they stood in front of Saren, ready to work on his wounds.

He was also here, unsurprisingly - in his current state, the guy really didn't have a choice. Having to let go of his leg, he instead placed his arms on his stomach, lacing his fingers tightly together to just... busy himself with something. "It isn't pretty," Saren commented distractedly, gaze flitting over people to finally land on Maggie and whoever was patching her up, just to distract himself from the green mess that was his calf 10 minutes ago or so.

She waved at Saren. “You were awesome Saren, I’d high five you if I could!”

Once everyone was inside, and the door shut behind them, there was an insistent scratching and snuffling from the other side. Something wanted in. Desperately.
21:24
Better hurry.
Avatar
Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 09:28 PM
After carefully putting Saren down so he could have his leg looked at, she started to barricade any way into the room there was. "Someone check if the comms still work in here and if so let them know that we could use assistance."

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth | SCI BOT 24-Nov-24 09:28 PM
".. What was that sound?" he asked, tone cautious to an uncharacteristic degree.

Lt. T'She | MED BOT 24-Nov-24 09:30 PM
"It might not be pretty now, but I'll be sure to patch you up," They said softly as they worked with the wound and their medical equipment, trying to distract Saren from the Horrors that were approaching.

While working alongside T'She to treat the worst of the injuries, he couldn't help but glance towards the door - to the sound of huffing and scratching. He would have felt better with a phaser in his hand instead of a dermal regenerator and some temporary splints before they could get them to the medical bay for proper treatment. At least this would (if all things went well) be over soon. He tapped his commbadge with the tip of the dermal regenerator, hands full, and went to report in via #communications.

The fog was vented out, safely lifting off of the affected decks. There would still be some time before those hallucinating recovered their full mental bandwidth, but they were safe at last.
