Bouncing up and down did not trigger the lift. Damn. Shit sucks.

She entered the lift and was just about to tell it where to go when she saw Ekhesai. "Are you alright, dear?"

"Hiiii," the young Cadet attached herself to Mirrim's arm, suddenly sleepy. "I'm going to take a nap...ok?"

Mirrim blinked, she wasn't used to people touching her without prompt anymore. Still when Ekhesai said she was going to sleep old instincts kicked in and she did her best to hold her up "Did something happen?"

"I wanna sleep in a sunny spot. Like a cat, you know, when they stretch out." Ekhesai squeezed tighter. "They always look so cute..."

"Dear, that will be quite difficult on..." Mirrim slowly let them sink to the ground. "Turbolift, take us to where the black stars shine."

Ekhesai dropped her head on Mirrim's shoulder, dozing off. Zzzzz...

Mirrim started humming under her breath, before stopping abruptly. "Our songs must die unheard."

Mirrim had somehow returned to the turbo lift and was now aimlessly riding it up and down the station. "The cloud waves break and the suns sink into the lake and the kids are all gone again, just like Gajina's kids will be gone soon. Their voices will die"
