Being directed to her quarters L1 bowed and watched as the others left. Seeing no inquiry on what she was meant to do, or where she would be needed L1 went into fallback mode. Which meant she was to clean the room to the best of her ability. She noted that the floors were well kept, but they could use for a deeper clean. From there she got to work. As this was her basic AI this generation was only warranted free roam when ordered to.

He chimed the doorbell.

Hearing the door chime she quickly stopped what she was doing and turned to the door before hurriedly opening it. "Greetings once again Lieutenant. How are you this lovely day sir?" L1 asked in her monotone voice. Though she slightly ticked and smiled. "Ah, it seems the Smart AI backup has been reinstalled. Would you like to enable smart AI functionality?" L1 asked quizzically.

Was she asking him of all people for permission to be actually smart for once? That was... problematic. Nonetheless Ughaz'udan was reasonably confident that he could deal with her should she begin to act up with said smart AI active, and so he answered with a terse "Yes." Time to find out what this woman was capable of.

Nodding she ticked a few times more before a warm smile crossed her lips. It looked almost indistinguishable from the way a human would look. "Zank you, Ai hope zat my dumb AI wasn't too bothairsome. AI know the simple lines keen be quite annoying, and all of that talk of the internals... gosh zey vere so cute gushing over ze internals on 'ow Ai vorked." L1 said a warm blush glowing on her cheeks showing that indeed this was an advanced AI.

Oh, for the Founders' bloody sake. The android now had a near incomprehensible accent that was uncomfortable to listen to, let alone interpret. Was this a smart joke being made by someone, he wondered, or perhaps by the android herself? He shook his head in mild bewilderment. "Your 'simple' intelligence was... compliant. Now I believe you can answer some questions." He folded his arms across his chest, watching the android warily. "Who are you, and where did you come from?"

L1 was about to answer in the accent, but sensinsing the frustration she answered normally. "Sorry about that, they programmed french into me since that is the language they thought best. I came from Xanthir II. I was created by the Arenian Android company. We are created as free androids, but in a way hard coded to wish to assist those in need. As for my name. It is Thalia O'Ira, nice to meet you in my fully functional form Lieutenant."

"You understand that we must be cautious." Ughaz'udan continued to eye her warily. An alien company programming this woman with a Terran language? Odd, and not in a way he liked. "Your arrival is sudden and unexpected. Naturally we must remain on our toes." He began to walk slowly around her, silently inspecting her form. Hidden compartments, concealed weapons and so on. If he found any he'd be on guard. Not that he wasn't already. "Where were you before your escape pod was found?"

Seemed to look down at his questioning of the ship. "On the ship there was an attack. Beyond that theres not much I fan remember. 98% of my memory banks were corrupted due to the lack of power. Luckily the recovery system moved the backup system to the 2% that was left. That and the last five minutes before the destruction of the ship. For the entire trip all I could see was the explosion then the sight of the bodies floating in space around me. It's not a pretty sight I can tell you that. I knew the crew personally. They were good people. Rough around the edges, but... well they were like family. They all knew I was different, smarter than the others. It felt... weird being a machine that was treated... human by the others. They even let me roam. The others they let them do their jobs, but since they bond with whoever they see as a master they couldn't activate them... it was nice honestly... though as you asked I indeed had to escape and I was lucky to as well since fifteen seconds after my launch the ship was promptly destroyed. All of them gone in a fiery blaze... all because of me..." L1 said as a look of anger crossed her face. "I would kill those bastards if I was allowed to. Stupid laws of robotics." L1 said with a deep sigh before sitting down. "All because of me..." She muttered to herself.

Ughaz'udan unfortunately had little sympathy for her plight. Jem'hadar cared very little for death. Death was death. Soldiers were lost daily and not mourned. Those that lost their lives to sickness or injury were swiftly forgotten. Loss was life, simple as that. "Tell me more about this attack." He requested tersely. "Who attacked you?"

L1 looked up to him and shook her head. "As I said the information is corrupted. Unless you have some super computer capable of sorting through the mess of garbled data then there's not much your or I can do. I wish I could help more. They killed those who I cared for so if I knew I would tell you." L1 said, the look in her eyes told him everything he would need if he questioned if this was the truth.

Unfortunately, Ughaz'udan wasn't well educated in recognizing looks of desperation or sincerity in others' eyes. Especially in androids'. He made note of that on his PADD and looked over the top of it at her. "I will make a recommendation to captain Caddel as to putting your memory banks in order among other things. Elsewise, thank you for being honest. I am sorry you had to experience what you did."

Nodded as she offered the port on her arm up. As she raised her other hand to it a holographic display appeared. Using it her fingers moved with surprising speed before stopping. "There, I gave you and the captain the allowance into my subsystems. I did not access this ships data as I was not permitted to, but I used your facial data as a way to access the data stores." L1 said with another bow.

Lieutenant Ughaz'udan | TAC BOT 14-Nov-21 05:06 AM
"I shall keep that in mind." Ughaz'udan muttered. "Hold on - the data stores of... where, exactly?"
Avatar
L1 | CIV BOT 14-Nov-21 05:17 AM
"Current data stores I have access to are... internal storage drives 1 and 2. Backup currently located in Storage drive 2. Data storage 1 at 100% corruption. Data store 2 99% corruption." L1 stated. Though from the flash in her eyes it showed she feared how close she was to what could have been a permanent "death" to her.

"Why would data of my face of all things assist with access?"
Avatar
L1 | CIV BOT 14-Nov-21 05:35 AM
"Facial recognition. It allows for much quicker data access thanks to not needing to input any password into the system, and the details of a species face is more complex anyways." L1 said back to her cold and calculated self. Most likely a front from thinking of what to her would be a recent trauma.

"I see." Interesting. Pending the captain's approval he would have to look through her files himself someday and determine the exact extent of what she held within herself. "Well, I will see you again, surely. You will be updated as to our decisions on you from now on. Until then, enjoy your stay." It sounded odd coming from him, really, but then again he didn't usually say things like that. Jem'hadar did not normally do pleasantries after all. He turned round and began heading to the door. Nodding once more she smiled. "Thank you for allowing me to use the smart AI program Lieutenant, I will need some time to process what I do remember however." L1 said as she sat down. The smart AI was a curious thing indeed since it allowed near human emotions from an android, or was there more to it?

Ughaz had grunted an acknowledging 'sure' and left.

For the time being after he left L1 wandered her quardmtwes nothing the details of the room. It's nothing like the place she knew. There it was dirty, terribly so, but still it felt like home. The noise itself... or a lack thereof here made her dislike the place further. "How can they be so prim and clean... oh wait, dumb ai did this. Well, let's see here." L1 said as she reached for her only secret compartment and came up with... nothing. Looking to it she grimaced. "You absolute idiot. You gave away Mr. Squiggles. That was a gift from the crew you idiotic dumb AI." L1 said with a heavy groan as she fell into a seat. "Can this day get any worse." L1 muttered to herself as she sat there mulling over what she could do here.

After a time she grew tired of thinking of the last five minutes of her time aboard the ship and left the room. Even if she knew she shouldn't thanks to the surveillance her mind was in other places as she passed through the door and into the hall.
