Sitting outside her door, was a sparkly white and blue parcel, it was a large thin rectangular parcel with a smaller thin rectangle stacked on top of it, denoting that there was multiple presents inside.

The Captain, who had chosen not to attend the ball was simply aboard the ship, she had been enjoying the peace however it certainly felt unsettling, perhaps because she was aboard a warship that wasn’t firing at anything for the first time in what appeared to be months? She had nearly tripped over the packages on her way out of the cramped quarters, her door was practically 5 steps away from the bed. Since she need didn’t need to share her quarters, she at least didn’t have to bunk with anyone. Back to the packages, she was expecting something along the lines of a card or maybe something small, she most certainly wasn’t expecting more than one. The CO was actually quite excited to see what was in store for them, and when they were all safely inside the room, she wasted no time in shredding the paper.

Inside the parcel was three metal posters decorated with early 23rd century Starfleet recruitment material, atop them was a small compact disk typically used for holodeck simulations. Atop it all was a intricate hand written note, which read as such.
"Dear Captain Caddel, I hope this present finds you well this festive period. I remember during our conversation you stated how you were looking forward to decorating your ready room with old Starfleet memorabilia, I hope these posters shall suffice to add a bit of colour to your space. The compact disk contains a holonovel that I found particularly interesting the last time I had enough free time available to actually visit a holodeck. I hope this shall cheer you up and bring some joy into your life this year. Love, your Secret Santa. <3"

Well, she most certainly wasn’t expecting this, how thoughtful. Although she wasn’t exactly how this person knew about her hobby of collecting old Starfleet material, so it didn’t take her long to find out who this was from. They would make their way on the wall soon enough.

The Captain would’ve used her ready room, but it just didn’t feel comfortable to be on the bridge just yet, the Borg didn’t smell but they have left an odor, a strong one. And Mona isn’t going back up until they’ve repaired everything anyway. She got herself together and made her way to the lift.

[PADD Message]
From: Ensign Jack McLellan To: @Captain Mona Caddel I am sending this message in regard to my conduct earlier, it was entirely unbeffiting of a man of my uniform. I could give excuses for my cowardice by simply saying that I've always suffered from a deep fear of the borg but that wouldn't be right. As a starfleet officer I should be ready to face such threats. I am open to any punishments that you view as necessary to whip me into shape. I understand you likely question my abilities as a helmsman after how shakey I became. I would simply like to state that I am a young officer, It's imperative for me that I learn to be better. It is necessary that I admit to my struggles for me to learn. As they say honesty is a great virtue. Please write me back the moment you get a chance, I understand if you don't have time at the moment however. To be scared is to be human but to learn from it is to be a better man. I simply hope you will come to forgive me.
