It was strange, coming back to a place they had once called home – even if they never quite saw the starbase as home to begin with. Home was in Japan, home was in Kyoto, in the home that their grandparents had left for him, in the home where they grew up, though, was having a concept of home even logical in the first place? Was there anything but the place where they were able to rest their head? They tried to shake those thoughts from their mind, they tried to shake those thoughts away with a quick motion of their hand. They were back on Starbase 777, and very little had changed, though… there was very little difference in Starfleet Quarters when things got down to it.
T’she took a moment to take in their surroundings, holding their pack over their shoulder and taking a deep breath, stepping inside before they put it down. They did not have a roommate, at least, not yet, that was different (well, they did not have a roommate on the Helios, but that was for very different reasons (reasons that they did not like to think about much), but they would try to pay it no mind. They would get used to it one day, and then the moment they got used to it, they would be given a roommate. That was just how things went.
But until then, they had the room to themself, and they would make the most of it. Perhaps they would decorate somewhat, they had some items in their pack that would make things look cozy (they always valued a cozy lifestyle, not that they would ever admit it). Yeah, that sounded like a good idea, a way to keep their thoughts out of their head before their first shift.
