A Secret Santa gift arrived for Saren: A wooden case, polished and treated to shine, was brought to Saren. It didn't betray much about its contents, but it was clear that whatever was inside was well-taken care of. Inside, there was first a note written in Vulcan, then copied over by hand meticulously in Rihannsu.

Saren tr'Lareth-Morvar, I regrettably do not know you, nor am I aware of your general preferences. Looking into your family name did not provide me with much inspiration, either, and when I studied your line of work, it became clear to me that I had no good ideas. So instead of finding a gift tailored to your preferences, I must hope you might share some of mine. The following items were designed to be both beautiful and practical, and, should you ever wish to learn how to work with them, I would be honoured to teach you. Live long and prosper, Senang.

Below the note lay two wooden practice knives, as were common in many martial arts practices. The blades were carved lightly to resemble tree branches with small blossoms in them, and the grips both had rings carved in for a more comfortable hold. Both knives had been sanded meticulously, until they practically shone, and had been dried out to harden and then treated with oil to look and feel even more beautiful.
