USS Kon-Tiki / engineering

The group sent to explore engineering had finally entered into the cavernous space after seemingly endless wandering around the jeffries tubes. They were delighted to once again see that everything aboard was working as good as the day it was built.

Before he even took a moment to look around, he made his way to the CEO's console to check the overall status of the warp core, and electroplasma systems, only to find that everything was in complete working order. Accessing the scanner array, he was pleased to find that the ship seemed to be where they had found it back in the 25th century, in the middle of interstellar space in the Eladarius sector, no contacts within 15 light years of their current position. "Team, looks like everything is as it should be, warp core running at 93.4% efficiency, power reserves at 100% and fully mission-capable. Now that we have our bases covered, lets see if we can access any information that might have been deleted."

He nodded to the Lieutenant, ready to put his (rather limited) engineering skills to the test. "Aye Sir!" He said before making his way to a nearby computer console, looking for anything out of place.

[D] Amahle had been tagging along, remaining quiet and more than a little cautious about the whole situation. "Have you found anything?" He asked, stretching out his hands and looking around to see if he would be needed for anything. "I can assist as well. If needed."

He grinned softly at his friend before gasping and letting out a stream of explitives in Klingon, before turning to his friend with a wild look, unsure to believe what his console was telling him, before comming the other teams. "Glad to know you have figured out the wall panel Doctor! We were able to recover a single log entry left by the helmsman shortly before the events leading to the ships departure from the 22nd century." "It seems that the Kon-Tiki had been sent to study our wormhole friend when they got intercepted by a Tholian cruiser. Apparently the Captain of the Tholian ship decided to pull a very stereotypical move from the likes of ancient Terran movies and described in detail exactly what they had planned to do to the crew and ship, and boy it was a doozy! Apparently the Tholians utilized some sort of bio-electric 'mind control' field on the crew and had them load up the escape pods and jettison them, leaving the ship prime for study and dissection back on their homeworld. That devices afteraffects are what have consituted our little ghost friends, residual bio-electric energy from the crew." "I have a theory of what happened to the crew and the ship though. We think before the ship could be snatched by the Tholians, the wormhole fluctuated and sent the ship through, somehow sterilizing it in the process and dumped it ever so carefully on Rapture's doorstep. I'm surmising that the escape pods, and the poor souls in them suffered a similar fate, though where and when they went I couldn't tell you."

"We should probably have someone run a scan of the nearby area... make sure there aren't any... unsavory... characters around" Amahle offered, thinking about the circumstances that led the ship to become abandoned in the first place.

In the meantime, Amahle started to make himself useful, and try to find a way for all of them to get home. He had a few ideas of what he could scan for -- but he was not quite sure whether he could get the wormhole to spawn in on cue. Instead, he searched for energy signatures similar to that of the wormhole -- or anything anomalous if he was being honest with himself.

He nodded, starting a level 4 spatial scan to see if there were any hostiles the computer hadn't detected on the first sweep. "Good idea!"

He looked around the room, taking in the historical significance of being in the presence of such an iconic class of ship before coming to his senses, grabbing all the nessecary equipment and comming the other team.

"We are moving then? Perhaps it's for the best. I'm currently using whatever scanning capabilities this thing has to try and find another possible wormhole... or try to use the systems here to try and Jumpstart one..." Amahle was clearly deep in thought about this whole thing.

He grinned and nodded enthusiastically, following his friend’s line of thinking, before hiking the rest of the equipment onto his back and looking around for a nearby turbolift. “Good idea! The bridge will probably have access to the full sensor suite! We can do further study from there!” He said, practically vibrating with excitement, both at the scientific puzzle they were in the midst of, and at the prospect of going home to a place with doors that opened on their own.

Amahle nodded and headed to the turbolift, shouldering his bag of equipment and mentally preparing himself for anything that might come up.

He followed Amahle to #turbolift-2, very much ready to get back home and off this ship.
