Whidbey arrived to the island via a seaplane from Seattle. It wasn't necessary to use an old sea plane but he figured that it would build the pressure up. As the plane touched down in the bustling center of the island he stepped off the plane with a bit of luggage in hand. His father had been waiting off the dock and whidbey immediately ran over and nearly tackled him into a hug. "I missed you so much dad, it's been too long."

Austin dad was nearly as big as him even at his older age. The older man wrapped his arms loosely around Austin, he had missed his son too but he was always less outwardly emotional. Especially since he was still in uniform (and technically on the clock.) "I missed you too son. Why don't we get back to the house? I'm sure your mom wants to see you."

He rubbed a hand down his father's back, taking that time to take a mental photograph, something he could think back on when things are troublesome again. He walked up the dock next to his father, the two large men barely fit standing next to eachother but they made it work. "I guess, I wouldn't mind a ride through the town again before we head home though? Is that cool?"

"Yeah I can show you around the city a little bit before we go but we've got to be home before dinner." He rubbed his neck slightly, the two of them both had the same nervous tick though both refused to recognize it in the other. "I just caught a salmon the other day and we saved it for you."

"Sounds really good dad." He said as they both stepped into his dad's police cruiser. In spite of not recognizing the nervous tick he could tell something was troubling his father. Perhaps regarding his mom, for now however he left it to be.
