"Okay," Allan said, sighing again and choosing to speak more softly - for Kianarix's sake. "But the thing is," he looked back at Lun, then back at Kianarix. "He definitely means it. You don't just say things like that, especially such illogical things like that, because you don't mean them."
And then, of course, Lun decided to put on a spectacular performance. Or, at least, that's how Allan saw it. As a performance, and if it wasn't one, well - Allan would have to take the blame for being the asshole here if it wasn't one, but he thought he knew acting when he saw it. After all the people he'd been with, many of them had put on such 'performances' in similar ways, and many of them were just plain manipulation. So he couldn't, really, be convinced that this was anything but.
"Wow," he said calmly, honestly the will to act angry had left him at this point - at this point, the tone of his voice was a bit dry, as if he was just Very Unimpressed, "I can't tell if this is emotional blackmail or just straight up coercion, but.. one, there's no advantage to have a wedding that you may or may not ever plan and that's to a guy you're just going to continue to ignore for the rest of his life. Using a case to help a Reman woman to try and convince him to stay with you is... you're acting as if he's the only expert on Reman culture that could help you. In reality, there's plenty of other people for you. For both of you. I don't know why you're so insistent on being with him despite the fact that you clearly don't like him or what he does, but my guess would be some kind of political or social clout?" Allan didn't even know, but he just was so upset with the entire situation. Not even going to adress them bringing up Valleka again either. Ugh.
