Star Trek: Starbase 777 - ╰dining-area-ballroom-side

There was a simple, long buffet table with various foods upon it: a huge roast targ, a cheese board, charcuterie boards, fruit boards, fruitcake, Christmas pudding, and various finger foods. This was an area of standing up and snacking. Nearby, there was also a huge chocolate sculpture of the station itself.

Marshi quickly followed along the equally excited Andorian. She found herself thinking as she did. She was never this upbeat before, or this enthusiastically social. It was kind of strange.

Maybe Nora just has that effect on some people. She's not always confident or energetic, but when she is, it's like a force of nature. She grabbed a plate and imediately got to work plucking some skewered yummies off of the buffet plates. "Oooh, shrimp kebabs!"

“Are those good?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. She looked at the shrimp kebabs with an intrigued but cautious expression, waiting for Nora’s response.

"Oh yeah they are," Nora said, popping a shrimp in her mouth. "Mth thewinth ith m vavrith bar." Hmm, maybe she should have swallowed before saying that. After swallowing she tried again. "Ahem, the chewiness is my favorite part. The flavor's great too though."

As T’Lal walked into the dining area, her mouth watered at the sight of all these different foods. She looked around her and saw two Andorians, neither of them she recognized at she came to the conclusion that they were enlisted here at the station. After T’Lal filled a plate up with fruit, latkes, and cheeses, she looked back at the Andorians and thought this would be a good opportunity to socialize. “This is some party, eh? I’ve never been to a Starfleet christmas party before!” She popped an uttaberry into her mouth.

“Ahhh, I see.” she leaned over to grab a bite, plopping it into her mouth. She turned to see the Vulcan, waving at her as a greeting. “Indeed, this is also my first time!”

"Yeah i don't really do parties much but i figured, why not? It's good to get out of my quarters for non-work reasons sometimes." Nora really did have a minimal social life. After all she chatted more on the chatroom than in person at that point in time! "So far i'm doing alright, but i did just get here, so we'll see," she said with a sheepish grin.

T’Lal didn’t feel as awkward now that she knew that the other two were more or less new to this as well. She smiled to make that clear. “I take it you two work here on 777! What’s it like working on a huge space station like this?”

“Ah! No I don’t actually, I’m also from rapture!” she corrected, smiling sheepishly, even though it wasn’t her fault.

The smug grin on Nora's face may have been accidental. "I however, have been working here for a few months. It's a pretty big station, takes some getting used to compared to a shipboard stationing. There's just so much more to keep track of - and I'm in Engineering, so it's my job to keep track!" She bumped her chest enthusiastically, and then ate another shrimp. "Hm. Where are they keeping the beverages...?" she asked, looking for them.

T’Lal’s eyes widened and her jaw dropped a bit, as she was both surprised and embarrassed by the assumption she had made about her follow Rapture member. Before attempting to say anything else, she put on a smile—albeit one that looked a tad awkward. “Oh, oh gosh I’m sorry for the assumption! I suppose I’ve just never gotten the chance to meet you while on board. Again, so sorry about that! I’m T’Lal Uso. I work in medical!” She looked towards the other Andorian as well, attempting to convey that she was introducing herself to them as well. “Engineering? That must be so cool!”
