There were numerous dining tables; the long ones, in particular, had wine red tablecloths draped over them, but the cloth on a circular table in the centre was a deep ocean blue. Upon it was a large glass vase of flowers: roses, delphiniums, plumerias, salvia azurea, poppies, and love-in-a-mists. * *Red 'wax candles' (holographic, to avoid fire risk) upon the long tables gave the room a gentle, warm glow, enough to see the food laid upon said tables: strawberries next to a chocolate fountain, blueberry pancakes and muffins, a cauldron of tomato soup and bowls next to them to ladle soup into, various salads with optional blue cheese dressing, and other miscellaneous buffet foods to pick and choose from.

Oh, the decorators went all out, Ace thought. The decor was dazzling, and the food looked delicious. Ace was gravitated to the strawberries, above all else. He loved those chocolate fountain things. So, he grabbed a strawberry, coating it in chocolate, putting it on a plate and repeating the process again. He just loved strawberries.

Maggie was awkwardly standing to the side of the table with her plate in her hairs, her hair done up in a bun as she stood there with a small hum. She wore a deep blue dress that was almost styled like a science uniform as she ate some gingerbread men, looking deeply out of place at a party like this.

Ace, in his suit studded with diamonds, noticed Maggie. He finished covering his strawberries in chocolate and walked over, waving with his free hand and holding his plate in his other hand. He had a smile on his face, the vibes here were fresh and he was enjoying himself. “Hi! All the decorations here are really cool, like, I wanna deck out my quarters like this now.” Ace’s quarters were already Christmas themed, but now he had seen all the cool stuff here, he was wondering if he should take it up a notch.

Maggie looked towards Ace with a small yelp as she was caught off guard by the fellow lieutenant. “Oh uh! Yeah! Yeah it is.” She said with a roll of her shoulders. “It is nice in here, I just uh, don’t normally like parties, but it’s cool!”

“I love all the flowers, honestly. Though I’m horrible at growing them myself, the only thing I can keep alive is a cactus.” He said with a small chuckle. “Yeah, definitely nice. And I suppose parties aren’t for everyone. I like them though, I’m a pretty social guy I guess. Though, I’m not the biggest extrovert around here by far. I’m pretty sure my sister Hal’s already talked to everyone in the ballroom.”

With a grace he only had while holding drinks, Tyrah ambled into the hall and went straight for the tables of food laid out, taking a moment to just stand there and ‘stare’, unsure where to start first.

Ace waved to Tyrah, hoping to talk to more people! He was still eating his strawberries, enjoying the party.

Sam walked into the banquet hall, fiddling with the end of one of her necklaces as she looked around at the dining tables, smiling as she realized the reoccurring flowers from before. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the blueberry pancakes and muffins - the muffins in particular were familiar to her from childhood, but the pancakes... she'd actually never had the pancake form, so she figured now was as good of a time as ever to try some. After getting her blueberry pancakes and pouring some very light syrup over them, she walked over to where other people had gathered, waving as she approached the group. "Hi, I - have you tried these yet?" She gestured to her plate of pancakes, and then her eyes widened upon realizing that she too had not tried the pancakes yet, so she tried a bite just then. They were good. As expected. "They're like... blueberry muffins, but in pancake form! Less sweet, too, if you skip the syrup. A lot more savory."

Ace waved to the newcomer, spotting the pancakes. They looked delicious, honestly. And now, hearing about how delicious they actually were, he was convinced. “No, I haven’t tried those yet. They look really good though! I love blueberry muffins. I’ve been going wild with the chocolate covered strawberries.”
