Star Trek: Starbase 777 - fishing-point

A short walk away from the bar was an area designated for fishing. While the fish seemed to avoid those out in the depths swimming and surfing, here they were more easily tempted closer by bait. A wooden boardwalk arced out across the water in a u-shaped fashion where people could go and fish. There were coolers of various different types of bait at different points along the boardwalk, and when choosing bait, you could also select whether you wanted the fish you caught to be holographic or made via integrated replicator technology so you could actually cook it afterwards.

Paco wasn't too far behind from Maya, they did go together. However, Paco had a different idea on how he should spend the day while on his wide-brimmed straw hat, blue tank top and short shorts (which he got from the shortshorts man). With cooler of drinks and snacks on one hand and fishing pole and tacklebox on the other, Paco walked over to what he felt like was a good spot, and started living his best life as an Animal Crossing NPC as he casted his line and peacefully waited for a bite.

Paco pulled out a fried lumpia from a tupperware and held it in his mouth after he took a bite like he had a big cigar. "Dish, ish nische." (This is nice.) It was like being a sea captain. Paco also does not condone smoking. "I'mma grill the big fish, and find small fish to make kinilaw with." Kinilaw is fish, typically mackerel or a similar small fish, marinated in chilis vinegar and eaten raw. Can't have a beach party without seafood.

The Tactical officer had been wandering around the holodeck, taking in the sights. That’s when he came upon the man in shortshorts. “I see you brought your own fish for lunch.” He mused walking up to Paco. “I suppose holo-fish probably don’t taste like much.” He Joked before introducing himself. “I’m Vahur, the new Armor around here.”

"I just caught these, actually. Thinking of how to. cool them later" Paco said before he casted his line out again "They're technically replicator fish, but yeah they don't taste as good as the real thing, sadly." He added with a chuckle to the joke. "I'm Paco, from sciences." He introduced himself with a warm smile "New armor? So you've been here pretty recently, no?"

“Really? That’s pretty interesting. Never thought about replicating the fish.” Vahur hummed. “Nice to meet you Paco. — Yeah, I just moved in with nice not that long ago. I had spent some time on Andoria before this. I used to work on a couple ships out near the border. It my first time being placed on a station like this.” He back tracked.

"A bit harder to reel in than the holofish, but nothing like the real thing. Least we don't need to worry about getting sick if we cook 'em wrong. Or eat them raw if you're into sushi." Paco joked with a chuckle before he reached down to his cooler. He looked over to what seemed to be like noises of his cousin in the shallows of the beach, though completely indifferent to whatever's going on other than pleased Maya's enjoying herself. "Wanna drink? I gots plenty." Paco offered as he held up a can of either beer or soda for Vahur to pick. "The border like, the Romulan border no? What's it like?" Asked like a person who has never been inside a starship before.

“I would love some.” He smiled, grabbing the beer he sat down next to the man. “Yeah. There truly wasn’t a dull moment. Plenty of smugglers, pirates and trigger happy warbirds to chase down. It took a while to adjust to domestic life when I first got custody of my niece Erna.” “We spent two years on Andoria before this. I figured it was time to come back to Star Fleet. I picked 777 since station life seemed like a much more stable place for a 9 year old.” He answered, popping the tab on the can and taking a swig.
