Star Trek: Starbase 777 - convention-panel

The former ACMO was thankful he stepped down so he could be able to attend events like this. Well, it's not that he couldn't -- he just enjoyed not having to worry about how much work he'd miss if he was still ACMO and attended. Regardless, he was here now. As a fan of Icebound, Matryx was eager to attend this panel, so he strode in, waiting for the panel to begin.

He received a polite smile and wave from Edi, who was currently fiddling around with some papers and whispering to her cast mates. She was quite excited, and waiting for some more people to show up before they properly began.

T'Vask, ever the sentinel, was sat with very perfect posture and had his hands resting on the table. Occasionally, he'd reach forward and readjust the stack of papers that was slowly growing in front of him thanks to Edi. There weren't a lot of whispers that came from him, just small nods and little hums. (edited)

Matryx had to admit he was a bit starstruck in front of these stars from Icebound, even if it was only a few of them. So often did IPs that interested him spark some ideas for what-if scenarios, internal head canons, speculations -- theories, if you will -- and in doing so he just came to love the IPs more and more. Icebound was no exception to this. As he noticed Edi's wave, Matryx smiled and waved back, hiding the fanboying that was going on in his mind. Yes - even Matryx was one to fanboy. "Hello hello!" Matryx greeted Edi and T'Vask.

Xuan was down for panels. They often struggled with 'free for all' sorta events where the goal was just to wander. They preferred things planned and knowing what was going to happen, hence their choice to attend the convention panel. Their service pet, Thyroid was there as well, wearing his little 'working' vest as he skittered about beside Xuan. They had checked the schedule and were looking forward to the upcoming programme. They waved at the former ACMO, recognising him immediately.

Matryx knew that face anywhere! "Xuan! Xuan, my friend!" He said to his colleague. "Happy you could join me here for this panel. I hope you've been well! Ready for this Icebound panel?"

"Yes, I am interested in learning more about Icebound," Xuan replied with a nod as they took a seat next to Matryx seeing as he was a familiar face. "I was unaware you were interested in.. comics and.. cons?"

"Excuse me!" Edi waved from her seat, her microphone not turning on until she was mid sentence. She blinked in surprise and shook her head. "Okay everyone, thank you for coming! We're ready to start, so let's do the Q&A portion! If you have any questions, please raise your hand!"

"Yeah, I--" Matryx began to say to Xuan, although Edi began to speak meaning the panel was about to begin! "I'll have to tell you later on, alright?" He said to Xuan, not wanting to disturb the panel. Thankfully, when Edi indicated that if the crowd had any questions, just to raise their hand, Matryx didn't hesitate. He raised his hand and waited to be called on before he began asking his question. "Hey there, my question for ya is: was there a lot of pressure to live up to the original Icebound stage show in making this movie?" (edited)

"Oh, gosh, yeah.." Edi laughed nervously, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I've been a huge fan since it started as a little tiny independent project, and there was definitely a lot of pressure from fans. I was devastated when I found out they were cutting Frozen Heart from our adaptation, honestly."

"Sure," Xuan responded to Matryx, turning their attention to the stars of the panel. They nodded slowly as Edi spoke, listening attentively!

Matryx shook his head in both understanding and disapproval at the fact that they cut Frozen Heart from the movie. "A shame, really, that song's a classic," he said more to himself and Xuan, although it was out loud. Who knew the former ACMO was into musicals?
