Star Trek: Starbase 777

The meet-n-greet hall! Mavna had a very bright smile on her face as she and her new friend in tow made their way inside, the hustle and bustle of people lining up around the block trying to meet their favorite celebrities seemingly not phasing the patient soul that is Cabiaso Mavna. “Cmon, we gotta get in line before things get morrre…hectic!” She said to Essen with a smile, slipping past a few people and ending up in line.

“And who should I make it out to?” Joryus asked a young civilian who was currently at the front of the line, a brilliant smile on his face as he twirled a marker in his fingers. He’d been to a few Starfleet bases during his research for the role of Tauseo, but 777 really blew the ones he’d gone to out of the water!

Essen rushed behind Mavna, staying as close as she could go behind Mavna as evidently the bustle of people was a bit overwhelming just to look at. The last thing she wanted to do was lose someone in the crowd. "I'm right behind ya!" Essen reassured Mavna. "Oooooh my gosh that's actually him!!!" She exclaimed. "It's really him!!" (edited)

Watching the line from a table on Joryus' left was Vee, his ink of choice a deep, sharp blood red. "I didn't expect so much of a turnout for a first ever comic con," he remarked idly, inclining his head to the side. (edited)

..and directly at his side was a younger looking Trill, looking ever so slightly nervous. Jaime was also a part of Horus' cast as Ensign Roma, but was a relatively new addition compared to the ever-beloved Toast, so he wasn't getting as much of a line.

In waiting in line Essen noticed both Vedette and Jaime and pointed to both, signalling to Mavna. "Yooooo, they got Vedette Cadieux and Jaime Denvin here too!" Essen said to Mavna. "Looks like we'll be busy today!"

“Hey, it’s a big place Vedette, and the three of us happen to be pretty popular, isn’t that right Jaime?” Joryus wrapped his arm around Jaime with a grin, shaking him playfully a little bit to try and inspire some confidence in the young actor. (edited)

“Told you, a few people,” The doctor grinned at Essen as they moved up the line, “What’re you cosplaying, by the way?”

Essen giggled and she flowed her cape as she did a little twirl. "Hehe, none other than Lady Dracula from the Lady Dracula Chronicles Video Game series," she said with a flamboyant tone of voice. "Makes me feel fabulous."

Mavna chuckled at the little twirl, folding her arms over her chest, “Pretty nice. Can’t say I’ve played them, but it looks pretty good! Very uhhh- Very Dracula-y,” She let out another laugh, “Yeah, I’ll go with that, pfft,” The line continued on, with Mavna and Essen moving up.

Jaime shrank a little more into himself with a nervous smile. "Yeah, s'pose so," he answered, though was a little less tense.

Joryus grinned at Jaime, glad to see his fellow castmate relax just a little bit, "There's the Ensign Roma I know," He chuckled.

The Vulcan girl giggled again to Mavna's matter-of-fact remark. "Heh, very Dracula-y indeed," Essen agreed. "This one is from the second game with Dr. Violet Frankenstein. COO Mira is dressed as Viole--oooh!" As she noticed the line moving up Essen also scooched forward in line. "--as Violet Frankenstein. She coordinated with me on this, so. Honestly though I wish I had a uniform like yours. It's like... Legit perfect to what's on screen and plus it's more appropriate for this meet and greet, heh..." As she scratched behind her head realizing that...she also hoped the celebrities in the meet and greet wouldn't mind...

Renakir headed to the meet n greet. He didn't know many 'celebrities' in the comic world but was hoping to score some cool merch and talk to people about what's trending. Renakir thought it was ironic that his brother looked to him for what was trendy within the Federation yet Renakir felt like he knew very little.

Noticing a familiar costume behind her Essen turned to face none other than... "Renderman!" Essen exclaimed. "Long time, no see, eh?" She joked, knowing she was just with him at the convention hall. "You're a fan of Spaceport Artemis too! Let's gooooo!" Her energy was certainly evident.

"Yes, he did. He was an alien i believe. He could shoot lasers. I cannot shoot lasers, full disclosure," Alizati said as if anyone thought he had such abilities. Seeing all the different costumes he wouldn't be surprised if someone rigged lasers or other (OPS approved) weapons into the costumes. The Furberus followed behind them, excitedly wiggling about. "Ah, I do not know many creators. I will look forward to seeing some art."

"Yeah, hey," Renakir waved to Essen with his very long arm (the one not holding the baguette). "Spaceport Artemis? I just wanna buy some cool merch," Renakir admitted with a little laugh. His attention then turned to the entrance of the senior engineering duo and he waved at both Alizati and Allan. "Jolan tru, sir-- and Allan," Renakir said as he lifted his helmet to reveal his face as he was sure that Alizati would not know who was under the costume. Allan already saw him. Even if Allan didn't, there was only one gangly bitch who'd bring a minecraft-style baguette to comic con.

Allan laughed when Alizati clarified he could not shoot lasers. "But you could, actually, boss, we could toootally set you up with that," which was, of course, very much a joke - even though they probably could, it was absolutely against regulations of some sort, in a non-costume context at least. "Heyy, Rennie, oh, I love the costume, by the way," he looked up.. and up, and sighed, "too tall, though, really. Can't even give you a kiss. Real unfortunate." He did, however, stand on his tiptoes and give his friend a head bump on the shoulder, much like a cat. New way to greet the homies. "Anyways, I'm tryna meet Vedette Cadieux over here, so.." he stood on his tiptoes again to look at the different meet and greet tables, why did everyone at this con seem so tall? Or maybe it was just the props? It's not like he was short, he was just cosplaying a regular dude.

Not too much of a line left, everyone waiting could certainly go ahead!

"I do not desire lasers," Alizati said with a small shake of his head. He did not smile or laugh, but his little nod that proceeded his head shake was an indicator that Allan's comment was amusing.

"Thanks and sorry," Renakir laughed as he bent his knees a little, but it was hard to get low when he was wearing high heels. "Ohh Vedette Cadieux?? Yeah, I'm down to do some--"

Dressed in just casual clothes, jeans and a black tank top, Rai approached Allan from behind. "What order do you consume your scones?" He asked, his breath hot on the human's neck as he bent his knees.

Vedette was chatting with the person in front of her, before they turned to get out of the way and she waved them off with a smile. (edited)

"It's okaaaay, I guess," he said with a laugh, and was about to walk over to Vedette's table when he heard someone come over to him and felt their breath before he realized who they even were. "W-" he turned around, looking at Rai very, very confused, "what do you mean, what order..?" He took out his PADD real quick to check that he looked fine. He felt the temptation to straighten out his tie, but then remembered that was part of the cosplay to have it loose, actually, right. The PADD stayed out, though, because he was going to ask so very nicely for a photo. "Like - I dunno, I'm about to go up there, but is this scones thing, like..." he was very confused, clearly, as he fiddled around in his bag again to get the Blood of Jupiter data stick in its case that he was planning on getting autographed.

"Oh.... Solait told me we were doing pair-costumes and I was to be a creeper," Rai said with a soft laugh in his deep voice.

"Rai.... a MINECRAFT CREEPER! And not at the meet n greet, come on," Renakir lifted his hat and waved his baguette at his brother who frowned and looked a little sad to hear he had 'misunderstood the assignment.'

Alizati was unsure what was going on with the Torre'vnau's and decided to approach the individual sitting behind the table. There was not many people there and the Furberus seemed very intrigued with the talent's hair.

"You guys can come up here," Jaime called out to Essen and Mavna, waving them forward. "'sokay, we don't bite."

Alizati was met with a dazzling smile as she adjusted her jacket, leaning forward with her chin propped up in her hand. "Hello there! Are you enjoying the convention, dear?"

"I am doing alright. It is very busy here, i am glad," Alizati said with a nod, realising he did not have anything for her to sign. He looked at the Furberus who wiggled their little bodies. "This is the Furberus. They are sentient and my creation. I will admit, I do not know much about popular media, but I like supporting creators and talents."

"Oh, aren't they just darling!" Vee gushed easily, coming around the table to greet the Furberus, squatting down beside them. She reached out just a little to indicate she wanted to pet them, but waited for them to approve. "Hello there, do you mind...? Ah, what's your name, love?" she asked, looking up at Alizati.

Upon confirmation from Jaime, Essen walked forward, doing her best to not let her starstruck nature get the better of her. That being the task of a girl who wore her heart on her sleeve, was easier said than done. "Hehe, hello Jaime!" Essen greeted Jaime. "It's nice to meet you! My name is Essen. This is my new friend Mavna! Heh, if it wasn't obvious, we're... We're big fans." (edited)

Mavna’s eyes glittered at the sight of the front of the line, and she grinned to Joryus before extending a small print of Lt. Tauseo she’d brought along, “Big fan- Uh- I had mentioned in a group chat a bit ago about how it’d be a real shame to waste an Orion actor as good as you by just ummm…killing Tauseo off.”

Joryus let out a soft laugh as he took the print from the doctor, uncapping his marker, “Well, between you and me, I don’t think I’m getting very wasted,” He grinned. He DID say on Space Twitter that he’d be returning to Horus for the next season…what role will that be? Who knows!

"That's very kind of you, I'm glad you're enjoying the show..!" Jaime smiled as best he could do the two women, clearly still a bit nervous. He waited his turn, or to be prompted to sign something!

Still in a bit of a starstruck state it took Essen a moment to realize... "Oh! Er, absolutely!" As she snapped back to reality. "Horus is one of my favorites. Oh! Uhhh..." She didn't have anything for Jaime to sign! She completely spaced! "Uhhhh... Eheh... I don't have anything I can ask for you to please sign--" then it hit her. "Wait!! Can you please sign my headband??" She realized just how weird that was saying that out loud, as she promptly slid her headband off and held it out to Jaime. Definitely not the ideal circumstance. He blinked, quite taken aback by the request. "Um— sure, yeah," yeah, whatever, he's signed weirder things. "I like your cosplays, by the way.."

She marveled a bit at the potential of Tauseo popping back up in Horus sometime soon, and very eagerly took her autographed print back, “Guess we’ll have to see,” She said, a bright smile on her face before turning her attention to Jaime, “Thanks! It’s the stock uniform for Spaceport Artemis, heh.”

"Oh, yeah, my cousin works on that. Costume design, I think. She's very talented." He grinned. "I'll be sure to tell her I saw you today."

Essen did her best to maintain her hair once the headband came off, although she figured indeed Jaime had seen and experienced weirder stuff. A headband could not have been anything too out of the norm. "Thank youuuu!" She said when Jaime signed the headband. "Ah! Why thank you again!" She giggled, inadvertently showing her fangs off to Jaime. "It's Lady Dracula from the video game series of the same name. Although I do need to make a Horus uniform too." She didn't want to discount Jaime or the Horus show! "Your cousin works for Artemis?? Bruhhh! What a coinkydink. Y'all's talent must run in the family or something!" (edited)

"I guess you could say that," he answered with a shrug. "Thank you for the compliment, though."

By the tone of her voice Essen meant it. "Aye, of course!" Essen replied to Jaime. A bit of a flailing start to this meet and greet went actually pretty well, all things considered!

"You can pet them, they love pets," Alizati said as the three headed creature stuck out their heads to be pet! "My name is Alizati and these three are ...," Alizati gestured to the middle head. "Bir," then the head to the right of Bir," *Ikki," *and then to the left, the shortest head," *and Yuch. Yuch sometimes becomes sleepy so I apologise if he closes his eyes. They are very excited to meet new people," *All three heads chirped happily in unison.

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you! Oh, aren't you just precious," Vedette cooed, giving all three heads equal gentle pets before returning to her seat. "They're so darling, thank you for bringing them along!" (edited)

The three heads of the Furberus seemed very happy to receive pets, with Yuch even booping his nose against Vedette's hand when she pulled away as a little 'thank you'. "They are an artificial intelligence based companion I created. They are still learning about the world," He explained. "I regret I do not have anything for you to sign, but I would happily buy something from you and have you sign it. One for me and one for them."

"Well, that's quite impressive! Let's see here..." She shuffled through a few posters. "I have a Blood of Jupiter poster, I have one of myself, I have a smaller sized one for Roll Call— what would you prefer?"

"You guys should really, like, agree on the actual costume together next time," Allan had offered the Torre'vnau brothers as a small bit of advice after that interaction. After that, he waited very patiently after Alizati, a grin coming to his face when he watched the actor pet the Furberus, in proper equal fashion! Afterwards, assuming Alizati had gotten a poster signed of some variety, Allan told him that it looked 'so freaking cool' before he then stepped up to the table. It had taken him another resisted temptation to fix his tie, but he did in fact fix the way the fedora was tilted on his head before offering Vedette a smile for her time. "Hey! Thanks for being here, it's honestly, like, soooo cool that you are, I mean, like - the absolute lineup here is insane, but like -" he looked down at the data rod in its little case in his hand for a split second, the case looked a bit worn but still in good condition. "When I heard you were gonna be here, I knew that I like, had to go, 'cause like.. I was on maybe my third Blood of Jupiter rewatch? Of, uh, 2415." And it was the end of April.

"Oh my stars, are you Detective Ventura? Aren't you absolutely darling!" Vee gushed, clearly absolutely delighted. "I'm happy you enjoyed the film. I consider it one of the greatest things I've been a part of in recent memory." And that was hardly an exaggeration!

Allan chuckled, and a few canon lines filtered through his head as possible responses before he simply struck a bit of a playful pose with his hands under his chin and a smirk on his face. "One and only," he said, truly glad he got an 'absolutely darling' compliment. His eyes widened just a little bit when Vee shared the next bit of information, but he supposed it wasn't actually that surprising. "Really? That's amazing, I mean, it's, like... every time I watch it, I notice something, right? Like, something as simple as like - when I rewatched it, like, last night-" yes, the last minute prep was necessary. "I noticed, like, in that scene where you're talking with the detectives and you say the 'no more questions' line and there's like... the tiiiiniest bits of a smile there for like, a freakin' millisecond, it's kinda wild, really. I don't know if that's like, intentional, or if it just comes to you naturally when you get into the character, but, uh.." he faltered off, not wanting to go toooo much into anything right now since this was, well, a convention meet and greet and not an interview, "it's just, like, super cool sh- stuff and I'm glad that like, you also think it's one of the greatest things you've been a part of, because it absolutely is."

"That's so kind of you. My heart belongs to my fans, truly, I wouldn't be anything at all without you." It was a long road to stardom, dotted with lots of blood, sweat, and tears— but support gave her the push she needed, and she was now well on her way. "Oh, my absolute favorite part of acting is learning the ins and outs of my characters. Maria, she's — well, she's quite secretive, isn't she. Quiet and keeps to herself, but can't help that little moment of pride when she realizes that she has the detectives right where she wants them, and... well." She beamed. "Thank you. It's an honor, and I'm happy you noticed." (edited)

"Yeahh, it's pretty good, she's like..." okay, nope, Allan realized that if he actually went into that, it'd be too much, "man, there's just a lot there, and it's all so cool, um.. I'm definitely forgetting something, and it's not a badge," he laughed a little at the reference that came to him - there was definitely a scene or two where Ventura had 'forgotten' his badge, "oh, right, right - I was wondering if you'd be willing to sign this? It's my copy of the film, I like to have the hard copy, it's kinda nice, and like - you know, the case is cool, and would look, like, double cooler with your autograph on it." He smiled as he handed over the small case, and then looked briefly over his shoulder to see if.. "And if it's not too much trouble after that, I was thinking we could take a pic together? Or maybe, like, a silly in character one and a normal one. My boss could take it - or the Furberus that you pet earlier, actually, they're really good at camera stabilizing, I mean - I've taught them to basically be a tripod when it comes to taking pictures."

She laughed, taking the data stick and taking a moment to admire the cover. She had one of her own, of course, but it was still fun to know other people kept them as well. Vedette signed the stick in red ink, her signature perfect as ever, before happily posing for the photos!
