The observation lounge had been decked out for Halloween. Dim lighting slowly oscillated between orange and green, these apparently being the chosen Halloween-y colours. A giant fake cobweb covered the ceiling, starting perfectly in the ceiling's centre and spiralling outwards in a replica of a real web that might be spun by a spider. Made to emulate the sheen of tholian silk, it glistened with the flickering lights of stars and shuttlecrafts from the other side of the sprawling window. Holographic bats flitted about the room and, well-programmed, occasionally landed in people's hair. Fog swirled underfoot from carefully hidden machines. Music played in the background, although it was quiet enough that people didn't have to shout to be heard. The playlist consisted of designated 'spooky' songs from different planets to create a multi-cultural Halloween experience, even if the holiday itself was from Earth.

Sporting his gleefully obtained shark onesie, Ed held a red plastic cup in one hand, the other tucked into his pocket as he swayed on the spot to the current song playing. He missed Halloween, not having celebrated in the past few years.

Xal was dressed in a pink prom dress with spaghetti straps, sparkly sequins, and also covered in blood - as was their body, with fake blood dripping down their face, neck, and arms. They'd recently seen an old, old Terran horror movie called Carrie. And in the spirit of Halloween, they'd decide to make a dedicated costume. Of course, a pink prom dress was right up their alley. They strode in confidently, smoke billowing around them, and walked into the crowd, looking for a familiar or an inviting face.

Looking up, he grinned at Xal’s costume, recognizing the dress (and, by extension, blood). He wasn’t a fan of horror movies, but he’d been forced to watch enough of them to know what was going on. “Hey. Carrie?” He chuckled, “Looks great.”

He steps into the observation lounge with an old costume he had, something he wore from his last party five years ago, which surprisingly still fit him, mostly. It was a silky yellow uniform, like something from an old marching band, with a fake mustache and glasses on his face. Despite entirely embracing it, Tor wasn't quite well-versed in human history and culture; all he could recall from his outfit was that it was of a classical composer from Earth. "I think I've overgrown these pants..." He muttered to himself.

Xal smilled and walked over to where Edgar was. "Thanks, darling." They said with a smile. "Your shark costume is cute." They chuckled, grabbing a drink from the punch bowl neare where the two were standing. They looked up when another person entered the room. "Have you? They don't look too tight from this angle." A wink.

“I appreciate it.” He grinned, “I have a supplier of these things. He owed me one, so… I went aquatic this year.” He stifled a laugh at Xal’s response to the newcomer, hiding his face with his cup as he took a sip of his beverage.

“You have a pajama supplier?” They did not stifle their laugh, which rang through the lounge.

“Only when I need to piss him off, yeah.” He shrugged, a pleased smile on his face, “Technically, he’s an archivist, and I could replicate these, but it’s just funnier if I don’t.”

Tor grabbed one of the drinks and overheard Xal's remark, "Do they?" he looked down at his pants, then turned to the ensign, "Remind me to ask you to get me one of those pajamas next Halloween. These clothes might end up fitting like my baby clothes next year."

“You got it.” He chuckled, nodding, as he took another swig of his beverage.
