Perhaps a confusing concept to some, yet still a staple of harvest festivals on Earth, was the hayride! Festival goers would see a Big Green Tractor upon approaching, which had a long open top trailer attached behind it. The trailer had stacks of hay bales lining the edges, creating benches around the perimeter and in the center of the trailer for people to sit on and be towed by the tractor!

And who better to be the tractor driver than one very sweet and silly Starfleet botanist. Teno sat in the driver's seat of the tractor, waiting for his first batch of riders to show up! Also, for those curious, he was wearing comfy farm clothes his mom made him. Your traditional Bajoran woven and hand crafted garments in layers and beautiful harvest colors. His sweater was a beautiful emerald green color and had textured stitching in a criss cross pattern.

The festival had only just begun but a handful of folks interested in the ride had climbed aboard the trailer and were sitting on the bales of hay, ready to go. It was mostly kids, and there was lots of giggling.

“Okay everyone, please remember to keep yourselves within the bounds of the edges of the trailer for your safety! I’ll be taking you on a short ride around the festival and we’ll talk about all sorts of fun harvest facts!” And with that, the Big Green Tractor’s engine revved to life and Teno began to pull the people around the festival.
