For Maran'agar and Elwyn, a tour around the forest awaited! Complete with audio guide and PADD that can recognise flora and fauna with a single scan, this was the perfect environment to walk and talk, while learning something on the way.

Why do people voluntarily go out on 'dates' with people they've never even spoken to or interacted with beforehand? All his very brief life knowing of the concept of close relationships in general Maran'agar had been under the distinct impression that 'dates' were reserved for someone one had feelings of attraction towards, and intended to pursue a relationship with. Only recently had he learned of the concept of dating previously complete strangers after having been deemed compatible by an outside party (yeah, ridiculous, right?) - and, against his other conflicting thoughts, thrown his name into the pool when offered the chance. Get out there,' his colleagues had said, 'maybe you'll meet THE ONE,' they'd cried. Funny how humans find such pleasure in gleefully making assumptions when it comes to matters like this, eh? Regardless, that had led to... whatever this was. Standing at the entrance to a scenic forest trail with a PADD in hand and an earpiece in one ear (which chafed, somehow), he waited patiently for the other one he was supposed to have been 'matched' with.

Soon enough Elwyn arrived at the entrance to the forest trail, only a few moments after Maran'agar had. Wearing some comfy trousers, a handmade knitted sweater with sunflowers on it, and some equally comfy sneakers, and carrying her PADD and lil earpiece, the android made their way over to the person they presumed was their mystery date. "Hi! I'm Elwyn!" They introduced cheerfully as gave the significantly taller Jem'hadar a friendly smile. "It's lovely to meet you!"

Admittedly, Maran'agar was quite surprised to see that the person he'd been matched with was, well, quite a bit shorter than he was. Granted, it's not terribly common for women to be about his height of over six feet, but still. The outfit was cute, though, cheery, comfortable-looking and definitely way more appropriate for a relaxing garden tour than the jeans, shirt and sports shoes that he'd decided to wear for the occasion. Yep, somehow he felt overdressed, just a little bit. "Maran'agar. It is nice to meet you." He tried for a smile that was, well, somewhat similar to hers in energy, but the attempt sort of fell flat. Glancing down the garden path ahead of them, he offered, awkwardly: "So. Um. Tell me about yourself."

Not batting a single eyelid at how Maran'agar dressed, nor how his smile appeared to maybe fall a little flat, Elwyn was more than happy to talk about herself to break the ice. "Sure! So I'm an android, made on Earth by a lovely Human I call my Pa. I come from a little island off the coast of Wales, I love music, sports, dance, baking, cooking, gardening, reading... A lot of things! Oooh, and knitting! I knitted this jumper myself!" She replied with a grin, gesturing to her attire as she spoke. "I'm a Health and Safety Inspector, a Lieutenant Junior Grade, and I've been stationed aboard 777 for the past few years now!"

Maran'agar blinked. This petite blonde woman was an android. He would've never expected it. He'd read briefly of the several androids that featured prominently in Alliance history, but he'd never expected to meet one. Until now, that is. He wondered if she'd been built as an adult, or if she'd 'grown up' like a normal child - for lack of a better way to put it. How funny that whoever thought of matching the two of them together had put together the two people with somewhat atypical development cycles, eh? "I... am a Jem'hadar. Obviously. I was 'born' in Dominion hatchery 03 Alpha. I spend much of my spare time training on the holodeck. Or exploring this senselessly huge starbase. Sometimes I get lost. I... have not been to Wales." He said, in a somewhat half-baked mirror of her introduction. For a brief moment he wondered what it was like to actually be born somewhere, grow up and be raised by someone - the kind of origin all his colleagues seemed to have to wildly varying degrees. Did Elwyn have that kind of origin, he wondered, improbable as it sounds.

As per what was very normal for Elwyn, they rather contently listened as Maran'agar spoke, enjoying learning more about him. "Yeah, the starbase is pretty huge, isn't it?" They responded positively, grinning quite happily up at the taller man. "It took me aaaaaaagessssss to learn my way around!" The android added, before briefly glancing down at their PADD and lil ear piece. "You wanna start walking tour? I'm super excited to learn more about the plants and creatures that live here. I know a lot about plants and animals but I'm sure there's more to learn! Plus these PADDs are super, super cool. They said it recognises flora and fauna with a scan, so we can point them at things we wanna learn more about!"

There was something childlike about the way Elwyn presented herself. Granted, she was an android, and had maybe only just begun to learn her way around personhood - which didn't really help much in the way of what he thought of her exactly. Go figure. Either way, he was more than willing to set that thought aside and move on; they had a tour to get on with! "Of course. The path leads this way, and so we shall follow. And... give me a second." Maran'agar reached up, plucked the offensively itchy earpiece out of his ear and set the PADD in his hands to narrate out loud instead. Better for him to talk when he wasn't scratching at his ear every few seconds. He then began to walk forward, slowly, so she could follow. "What is your favorite place aboard this starbase?" He ventured, for a start. "I visit the coffee shops fairly often. Their recent iced coffee infused with peaches is quite good."
