Rock and Roll Comfort Diner was always a vibe, but now, in preparation for Alan and Ellin's blind date, the energy was positively electric! The table was set, the rollerskates tightened... now all that was left was for the couple to arrive.

Rather unfestively, however, was Snake, as the extent of what he wore was just a polo and some jeans with some loafers. No roller skates to be seen, as his coordination in that regard wasn't the best. Still, he looked forward to meeting whoever it was that was going to be there on this blind date! He figured this was as good of a shot as ever!

Ellin was there a few minutes late, wearing some very unusual earth clothes- mid 20th century design. It was a yellow dress but short enough to notice that she had no shoes on, just socks, as she held the roller skates by the tip of their hole in her left hand as she semi alwardly walked into the room. "Oh, Hello. You are a Human, from Earth, correct?" Ellin set the skates down with a sigh. "I do not mean to disrespect your heritage and culture, but I simply cannot walk in these all the way from my quarters to here. I fell twice where a lot of people could see. I am lucky they were not any of my co-workers, as I dont need a nickname again."

Snake didn't mind whoever showing up being late. He just wanted to be in the company of someone other than the diner owner and the other patrons. Thankfully it wouldn't be long before the blind date he was meeting had arrived! This young woman who had skates on, or had rather just gotten them off! "Sick! I didn't know there we could ride roller skates in here!" They couldn't. Snake just got excited. "Yeah, I'm human and I'm from Earth. Heh, no worries, it would take so much more than complaining about the skates to disrespect me. I take it you don't have much roller skating experience. But that's okay, I don't have any either." As he approached the young woman. "Nickname? Now why would people give you a nickname for a mishap?"

Ellin looked up at Alan with conviction. "I thought it would be prudent to- Ahem; Be in the mood. Thats what this place is resembling, A roller skating themed establishment." Ellin nodded in confirmation, and crossed her arms behind her. "I gained a unpleasant nickname at the Academy. Some companions called me Bookworm because they felt I took things a bit too seriously in my studies." Ellin made a contemplative face. "Which is inaccurate because calling my symbiont a worm is hardly accurate, or kind" Ellin now refocused herself on Grayson. "But my name is Ellin Jom, Its nice to meet you. With this, she flashed a friendly smile.

Snake looked around the area, noticing the finer details as he hadn't really been here before -- and after a brief moment, he did realize... "Yeah, you're right," he said. "This is probably the most appropriate place to be showing off roller skates." And he ended that with a chuckle before he listened further to what this woman was saying. "Okay, yeah, that's not cool for them to give you a nickname which jabs at multiple areas of your life, I'm sorry to hear that they called you that. I hope that has stopped since then." Before the woman introduced herself. "Aye, right back atcha! I'm Snake. It's a moniker, my real name is Alan Grayson. But I like Snake. Short for Snakebyte. Whole story behind that."

"well, cadets have a certain immaturity to them that seems hard to shake until they get assigned, but thank you". Ellin tilted her head "What is the story? Snake bite sounds a lot more specific than merely Snake"

Snake couldn't help but agree. "Ain't that the truth, Ellin Jom," Snake replied with a sigh. "Ain't that the truth." Before Ellin asked about his story. "Oh! So uh... I don't know how I'm still alive after it happened but I got a bite from a venomous snake on an away mission on a planet infested with snakes. I didn't only die but I went berserk and out of what I'm now convinced is adrenaline that I just used that to save everyone else in my team. Gained the nickname right away. But I like Snake, it's badass!"

Ellin tilted her head the other way now, her eyes squinting curiously. "You went beserk? What does that mean particularly?" Ellin thought, as she listened to the story. "So, does that mean that Snakebyte is a positive nickname, or a negative one. I do say however, It is inspiring that you take it to be a positive one. It reflects well on your... Confidence, Yes." Ellin nodded at what she just said.

Snake couldn't help but snicker at his own embarrassment from having gone through beast mode. "I like to call it going into a sort of 'beast mode' there," Snake said. "I just... It felt like I was ten times stronger than I normally was, when in reality it was just adrenaline. Still, it was an out-of-body experience, something that I just watched myself do and didn't really have much control of it until afterwards. So Snakebyte is a positive name! That bite should have killed me then and there. But it didn't. I survived!" Snake blushed slightly when Ellin said it reflected well on his confidence. "D'awwwwwww... Staaaahp it..." Snake joked.
