Star Trek: Starbase 777 - team-pink-jail

To the back of Team Pink's territory was their makeshift jail; a little hut built of branches and vines. It was hard to spot without concentrating, given that the entrance was concealed by overhanging foliage and blended into the natural surroundings well. It might have seemed like an ominous place outside but inside it was far nicer, hosting comfortable benches and having bottles of juice and snacks stored in coolers. Even if whoever was here couldn’t actively play the game, at least they could chill for a while!

Well it wasn't all bad. There was some juice here. She took a bottle of some raspberry flavoured sports drink and started sipping at it, waiting for her team to wake up and rush these pink guys. Aw well, nothing she could do now.

"Hi," Five managed, breathless, reaching out to ruffle Kaylee's hair as they took a seat beside her. "I tried to save you. Sorry."

"Hey Fives. Don't be sorry. Hey, you got far enough to be tagged, and you were supposed to be defense. Want a drink?" Kaylee offered a sports drink to Five.

"Aha, I guess I did." They took it with a grateful smile. Their face hurt from smiling so much... "It's fun, though. It's a lot of fun."

"Hell yeah. I'm having a great time. Little frustrated, but what can you do? Just how the cookie crumbles sometimes." she wasn't sure if she was comforting herself or not, but she wasn't going to get angry over a game. Its all fun. Its just a game. Its all fun.

Five reached over to wrap Kaylee in a half-hug, their arm over her shoulders. "Easy, quackers. It'll be okay. You're allowed to be frustrated, but it's all in good fun, y'know?"

sigh. "Yeah, its all fun. Thanks Five, I needed that. When I was a kid though, I got so angry at some kids in my class. They'd cheat so much. You'd tag them, they wouldn't go to jail, or they'd say they tagged you when they didn't. 'S just, ah doesn't matter."

Five nodded, keeping their eyes trained forward. Lots of noise from the forest... "Well, at least we're all honest. And it's all in good fun. I suspect everybody's having a good and fun time out there, and it's nice to take a second."

sip of juice "Yeah. We didn't get drinks in the jails in Schools. Just cones and grass. At least there's drinks and snacks."

"Jailbreak service has arrived, let's run," Farrah said as seriously as possible, as she tapped Kaylee on the arm. "We have a flag to find. I didn't see it on the ground, so we probably have to look in trees."

Kaylee stashed her drink in her front zip pocket. She'd be back for that later. "Sorry Fivies, I'll be back!" And started out of the jail with Farrah. Flag time.

Five beamed at the arrival of their teammates. "Go, Kaylee, go!" they cheered.

Ocannra darted towards the jail cells as she tagged Fives through the bars. "You are free from custody." She shouted as she panted for breath as she ran back out into the battlefield towards the pink zone as she tried to go back to the orange zone. (edited)

Wahoo, jail break! Five hopped up and sprinted out of the hut.

Back to jail it is. If only she had a harmonica, so she could play one of those sad cowboy tunes.

Since she didn't have any instruments to hand, she took a sip of her sports drink, really dramatically, and then started humming a sad cowboy song.

There was a trumpety fanfare which probably meant a win!

Oh who won? She closed her eyes, picked up her drink and stepped outside. "3....2....1..." eyes open, seeing orange confetti. "AYYYYYY WE WIN THESE LETS GOOOOO!!!!!" Jumping around in joy on the pinks side, Kaylee felt happy they won, despite spending more time in Jail than out of it.
